Gil wrote:It was for a period of 15-20 minutes in the 1st half in which we looked exposed. Lampard totally ignoring his defensive/midfield duties was the sole cause of that. Can't see that stopping until he breaks Tambling's record either.

Aside from that we were pretty dominant yesterday. No idea what you guys are on about we had 71% possession ffs.

Only Reading I know but it no longer felt like a chore watching Chelsea yesterday. Encouraging stuff tbh.

As long as we don't revert back to hoofball I'm happy.

We had 60% against Spurs and played crap, Liverpool had similar against West Brom and lost 3-0....

It means f*ck all.

In any case it's obvious when under pressure Mikel, Lampard, Cole, Terry and Ivanovic all struggle defensively in an expansive game.

Better teams will exploit this and i don't just mean the best teams even mid-table teams will exploit this.

It was only Reading, do you really think even us will allow you to have 72%?

The players i named don't like pressing and going back the other way in one movement, they are just simply not suited to this type of game.

You could always go back to countering but then Hazard and Mata's influence would be restricted, so you are basically stuck with a broken team until you replace the players mentioned with players more suited.

It's basically Hazard FC atm and i don't see you being successful with this style of play until these problems are sorted.

Dose of reality hurts sometimes doesn't it Very Happy

Was going to say that, that would be a partnership that suits this type of football, still doesn't solve the fullbacks and centre midfielders struggling though hmm

If Mikel converted back to the lazy Mikel he used to be it'd help alot, but now even Mikel is getting up into the attacking third, against Reading he even almost got to the byline Shocked
