Is he going to leave for free? I mean he does have a contract with us Same with Kuyt I didn't understand his departure (unless they bought out his contract clause). Fenerbahce didn't even consult with us, they just agreed terms with Kuyt even though he was still under contract with us.

Holtby:
Speaking to Kicker, the 21-year-old has now said: "England will always remain an issue for me, but that is still a long way off. I will be playing for Schalke for at least one more year and that's what I focus on."
Asked if he could picture himself playing for another club in Germany, he said: "I am with a top club right now. It is my dream to play for Schalke and to wear the No. 10 jersey here. Why should I transfer within the Bundesliga? I would not know where!"

They are nuts
Wolves must be desperate to gain promotion straight away x)
Indeed a little whacky for a Championship side to resist that big offers for those players.

True Art, fact of matter is Wolves don't need to sell and they know if they get promoted they will be entitled to the piece of the tv money increase pie.
Even so those are crazy offers, Wolves are nuts for rejecting them and the clubs in question making the offers are nuts as well.

It's just that they don't have to sell right now, they'll receive that parashoot money from the Prem and so on, but if they fail to get promoted they will have lost out on millions of pounds by not accepting those offers now. No way those players will extend their contracts in the Championship and their value will only decrease there.

Exactly, it's the risk you take i suppose. If they get promoted then they come out smelling of roses if not they they smell of shit.

9 mil for Jarvis? bargain to be honest.
...West Ham are seriously tossing around ridiculous bids for average players during this window, they should be thankful they've been rejected. The world's gone mad.

According to reports in Greece, Olympiakos are in talks with Arsenal defender Sebastien Squillaci after agreeing a deal with the Premier League. Squillaci is discussing a three-year deal, with Olympiakos looking for an experienced centre-half to replace Olof Mellberg, who has joined Villarreal.
SkySports news are reporting an offer from Olympiakos in the region of £1 million for the out of favour centre back Sebastian Squillaci.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there a gentleman's agreement between Rodgers and Swansea that he couldn't touch their players for 12 months? confirmed by Swansea?
Initially, Rodgers was blocked from bidding for Swansea players unless a rival club made an offer. He agreed this as part of his move to Liverpool, but only on condition his former players were not the subject of interest from other teams.
That obstacle was removed when Tottenham made an approach for Allen, 22, prompting Rodgers to make his move.

Liverpool players and managers putting speculation on Agger to leave (knowing he won't leave) to pursue other targets with no media relation crap raising his price. /ynwaconspiracy
We sold Kuyt for 1m. I think you mean Maxi who we also 'let go'.
We've basically got rid of Maxi and Bellamy to get ready for the future and get them off the wagebill ASAP as they wanted to go back home as they were homesick or whatever. I would of liked them both to stay, but 160k a week on 2 players who would hardly feature (and wanted to be elsewhere) is saying us around 8m a year. Add Kuyt to that, and we've saved around 12-13m a year for players who were passed it.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread Pt. 6
Which clubs do people think are doing the best transfer business thus far? Fiorentina's overhaul looks very exciting, and they may still get Babel, Reo-Coker, and who knows who else. If they can keep Jovetic and enjoy some luck this could turn into a really fun passing team. Or it could all go down in flames.
Arsenal's three signings so far have probably been the best in the PL if you were to factor in both quality and market value. I would have been very impressed had Spurs secured Leandro Damiao for £15m or so, but with recent reports coming out it looks like that's a pipe dream for them (and any other clubs hoping to sign LD on the cheap).
And in the mega-rich bracket it's impossible not to be impressed by Chelsea and PSG's signings, though maybe "impressed" isn't quite the right word. I think next year's Chelsea squad, if not this year's, will be serious title contenders.

lol, QPR have only signed one decent player in Hoilett, the rest is bad.
QSG have spent wayy to much but look a lot stronger.
Chelsea and Arsenal have done the best IMO. Fiorentina have done well too but their signings have been risky.

Fabio Borini and Joe Allen Got rid of 4 oldies as well in Aurelio, Maxi, Kuyt, and Bellers. Still more to come!!! Better summer window than last season at least.
