I think the offence needs to be more of a fall back option as you sort of allued to...Nash and Kobe dont adhere to any set system very well and Howard doesnt have the skillset to really play this one.

In Phoenix, D'Antoni and Nash literally had no plays almost and Kobe is the all time leader in breaking plays.

I was disappointed with the defense, there's obvious things within the offense that are going to be worked out with the talent and the basketball IQ's on the team...but the transition and pick and roll D needs to be sorted.

Not enough ball pressure in the open court, Howard and Gasol don't understand their rotations. Howard needs to understand that he has protection so he can afford to hedge the picks / Freelance.

Especially to protect Nash.

Not sure if I want the team to become too reliant on pushing it, once again Nash + A big + some guys from the bench seems like the best environment to let them do their thing.

Yeah when the defense is outta position and on their heels, that's when Nash is at his best.

And defensively, yeah, Nash struggled big time, Collison and Beaubois are 2 of the fastest guards he'll face but still we all know he's a liability.

I forgot to say last night Jeff Green was awful on both ends, looked like the player he was before the heart problem..which was not a good one.

Doesnt have a position on defence and if his jumper isnt going then he cant get going at all on the other end.

Barbosa was magnificant, Terry can still play, once Bradly is back Lee will be fantastic off the bench, Sullinger looked pretty good in limited minutes and Darko will do as the worst player you have, he is servicable, has size and mobility while able to shoot a little and block a shot here or there.

They dont need Green really.

Jeff Green looked really good in preseason.

I'm going to wait it out and see....I think him at the 4 with the 3 guard lineup + KG is going to be some very very handy instant offense.

Rondo is going to have fun with that lineup.

Yeah, even though we lost, I was pretty happy with what I saw from the Celtics. Really liked what Lee did. Barbosa was a great spark in the 2nd half.

And Green did look quite good in preseason, but looked lost last night.

I think we're gunna be very good this year, Miami is just better. Should be closer though when we play them in Boston.

Strange game, once again terrible defense bar the 4th quarter which really should not be happening. Turnovers and what not and why Chris Duhon was playing I will never know.

Yep, Lakers took another L. 3 reasons, defense, turnovers, and bench. Their defense sucked, offense was alright I guess. I mean, they went away from the Princeton offense early, looked good without it and had a good tempo, then they go back to it, and it's the same story, they outrebound Portland on the offensive glass, but get outshot by 11. They still scored 106 so it's hard to say it's the offense though. Defense is real meh right now. Howard not protecting the rim like he normally can; neither Nash or Blake can guard opposing PG's. And their bench has been pretty abysmal... Jamison has given them nothing in either game, Hill 0-4 tonight, Ebanks had as many fouls as points and rebounds combined, etc.

Oh, and Mike Brown is pretty terrible also.
