Re: Oscar
Ramires had a good offensive display, but he is off the ball type player and not one to get involved in our build up.
I don't think Everton would have created the same amount of opportunity if Oscar played, we needed Oscar to get on the ball and help Cesc distribute the ball.
With Oscar out Mikel should have been in the game a lot earlier.
Either way glad with the win and largely thinks to Everton horrid back four tbf.

Re: Oscar
Ramires did get a couple of good assists but he constantly gives away fouls in bad areas, and with him AND Cesc fouling, not surprising they scored from a FK. Oscar is much better than both so he was missed in that in that respect.

Re: Oscar
Don't understand why has been benched. He was great against Swansea, Mou made a mistake playing Ramires or Willian over him.

Re: Oscar
I was surprised Willian played over him. I think the only reason is both have a lot of Pace over Oscar on the counter.

José Mourinho praises Oscar's 'evolution':
Jose Mourinho says Chelsea midfielder Oscar has ‘evolved’ into a player capable of controlling matches following his goal and assist against Crystal Palace yesterday

Re: Oscar
He is doing very well.
I wouldn't say he controls the game, that is Cesc, but he compliments Cesc very well and is doing a great job.

Re: Oscar
I'm more than happy that he's merely back in form for now. I wasn't half worrying before the season started that he'd carry his awful form from the second half of the last campaign into this one. Very happy it's proved to have been for naught.

A big bid (not that anyone would make one) would see him gone in the summer, I reckon. And tbh, provided a quality replacement could be brought in, or a complete abandonment of the 4-2-3-1 altogether, I wouldn't be the least bit sorry to see him go.

Comments made accusing him of underperforming at a time most people unanimously agree he underperformed in.
Your point?

I particularly like Quote 2.
I constantly made the point that there was nothing to worry about and his form would return, you kept spouting comments like the ones I quoted.
No faith.

Re: Oscar
Quote 2 is probably the most accurate of all of them. If you disagree with it, what you're effectively saying is that because he's back to playing better again now, his going MIA for 6 months was okay.

Re: Oscar
Again you willfully conflate the issue. Expecting a player to perform competently on, barring an exception here and there, a consistent basis ≠ "expecting the world of" him. Same accusation you make spuriously against me in the Salah thread. Must really be desperate for something to throw back at me, eh?

Re: Oscar
Again, I said he was playing poorly in a period pretty much everyone agreed then and agrees to this day he was playing poorly in. Please elaborate on where I was "wrong" in this.
If you can produce a quote of me saying he'll never play well again, you'll have a point. Until then, you best pipe down. Only digging yourself deeper at this point.
