Debuchy is not that great, but still too good to go to a club like Newcastle. Why would he settle to move to such a small club when he is playing well in French league. Maybe he's not concerned about trophies.

Just about all of Roma's major news sites reporting that we're now looking at John Guidetti as a possible replacement for Borini as well as Destro.

Nothing on the major news sites yet though. He's far too expensive anyway, but I did find this link a bit interesting.

FYI Premier League is a step up from Ligue 1 and Chelsea, Valencia, Inter, Bayern etc etc all wanted him at some stage with Chelsea and Inter putting offers in.

Also the size of the club means nothing.....

I suppose Ben Arfa, Cisse, Ba, Cabaye, Tiote, Coloccini, Krul and Santon are too good for us as well.

Apparently Destro's first choice is Juventus but i dont think we are willing to pay the kind of fee are Roma are paying..perhaps..

Btw Mole are you sure spending £10m on a striker is wise? Unless Ba is definitely leaving of course.

Thought Pardew would be looking for a winger and maybe another CM.

CB and striker ( that can play wide) and that will be it. CM is a possibility if the opportunity arises but i cant see a winger happening.

Have no idea who we are getting as far as striker goes, De Jong was the first choice but the whole striker search since we were linked with Guidetti has gone a bit dark.

Ba is staying btw.

Well Preziosi said we submitted the best bid for him some time back and that bid still stands as far as I know, pending the sale of Borini. Destro has also been receptive to playing with Roma, but that was largely down to his great rapport with Borini since they were U-21 teammates.

Cabaye will make runs to join up and Ben Arfa will come inside but no one actually plays behind Cisse.

Cabaye's role in this system is actually quite similar to Xavi's for Spain.
