However, Lisbon sources say Real retain first refusal on Witsel thanks to an agreement struck with Benfica over Rodrigo Moreno's move from Madrid.

Both Hazard and Ramires are hard workers so they can help out defensively, I have been saying for a while now that who ever is in the Pivot next year has to have a great season if we want to make this attacking team work. I feel Lampard is smart enough to help out defensively and Mikel should do well, if not Romeu should play as he has great positioning.

To sum up, I don't think it will be a problem as we have more defensive cover than what we use to have.

not only thanx to that i believe, real have bought quite a lot players from benfica. the two club's relationships are very good i believe
is normal for benfica to prefer madrid over any other team to sell

They must be having a laugh. We bought him for £12M last season. His stock did not drop by half after a CL winning season. Something between £8M-£10M and Chelsea will listen. if not, they're probably just wasting their time.

Knowing Benfica and knowing that you're 'market leaders' at present along with the likes of Madrid and City its likely that they will rip you off ,i'm thinking in the region of 25-30m.

Plus, two games does not prove whether he is ready or not.

Moutinho, Modric and Fellaini are all better options.

He'd walk into your team's midfield for sure..I'm certain..He's someone who can keep possession though ideally Modric would be the perfect choice.

Personally i dont think he's worth more than 20m though.

Mikel, Lampard & Mata/Hazard are all better than Witsel.

Hell even De Bruyne is a better midfielder.

He really isn't anything special.

Well if you need creative CM's then Moutinho and Modric would be the ideal options..

If you're looking at someone who is good on the ball and defensively as well,my personal preference would be Witsel..(I havent watched Fellaini that much)

I think Chelsea just need a creative midfielder imo. Mikel, Ramires and Essien are enough for DM.

They should have a look at Gundogan of Dortmund too in their quest for a creative CM if they are priced out of other targets.

You forgot Romeu. Meireles can play there too.

We do need a creative player mainly because Josh isn't ready and Lampard can no longer play every match.
