Manchester United demand Pogba compensation from Juventus
According to reports Manchester United are demanding that Juventus pay compensation for midfielder Paul Pogba.
Pogba left Old Trafford on a free transfer after his contract expired this summer.
Tuttosport claims the Frenchman's proposed unveiling by Juventus has been held up because United are demanding €300,000 in compensation.
It is understood that Juve are so far refusing to pay up for the midfielder.

Re: Manchester United demand Pogba compensation from Juventus
Aren't there some FIFA rules regarding signing young players on a free transfer and providing the team with a minimal level of compensation? I believe that Man U had to do the same thing with Giuseppe Rossi.
I don't feel sorry for United. They do this to small clubs all the time. It's only fitting that another club poaches one of their players.

Don't give them a dine. We play by the rules - it's not a matter of business contacts. United is a rivalry club, show them no mercy!!

If Juventus hasn't paid anything, they should. Compensation fees for youth formation are mandatory and are very small. Don't be cheap for 300.000€, like Arsenal was with Barça when they stole Cesc, and end up losing in court.

There's no rule that a club has to pay those money! Whenever he's out of contract, he's out of contract. In the Cesc case you guys should be glad Arsenal took him and made him the player he is now. that's got nothing to do with Barca but that's not a discussion for the Juve forum..

Free Cat makes a good point. If you look at other examples, it's common for teams to have to pay for youth development of a player when he leaves his youth club on a free transfer.
However, United may not have a strong argument for developing Pogba. There are strong arguments for the team to pay when they take a player that came through the team's youth system, but that's not really the case with Pogba. For example, Giuseppe Rossi and Cesc Fabregas each came up as youth players in Parma and Barcelona's systems. Rossi signed with United at 17 and Cesc with Arsenal at 16. Pogba started with Le Havre when he was 14 and signed with United at 16. Pogba is now 19 and United had a fair opportunity to give him playing time and signing him to a longer deal.
There are stronger examples of arguments in the cases of Rossi and Cesc than with Pogba. That would be my argument if I am Juve.

I, opposite to most people, don't talk about something being misinformed. There is a rule about training compensations in FIFA transfer rules.
20 Training compensation
Training compensation shall be paid to a player’s training club(s): (1)
when a player signs his fi rst contract as a professional and (2) each
time a professional is transferred until the end of the season of his
23rd birthday. The obligation to pay training compensation arises
whether the transfer takes place during or at the end of the player’s
contract. The provisions concerning training compensation are set out
in Annexe 4 of these regulations.
I don't know the exact price of the training compensation's in Pogba's case, but Bologna paid around 700.000€ in training compensations for Marti Riverola, who is 20 years old and has been since childhood with us. So I guess in Pogba's case, who is 19, would be something less.
Also, Cesc was stolen from Barça because they tried not to pay the compensation, and were finally forced to by courts. And I don't think Arsenal helped Cesc in a significant way, IMO they ruined his game for us.

Thanks for the reference. I knew you were right about this subject. Juve is probably going to have to pay United. It won't be much, but we will pay a few hundred thousand euros.
No matter what the result is, it is nice to see United getting it's talent poached. It's a nice payback for all the times they do it to smaller clubs. Anything that gets SAF upset makes me happy.

Truly looks like a scary mobster. "Lazy eyed Peppe".
I think you can easily fix a lazy eye these days with a surgery. Surely it would be a good plan, no? Maybe he likes to keep an extra eye on his surroundings though.

Crazy that united after so many years of poaching young players from around the world have had it happen to them.
Best of all Pogba is one of their crown jewels!
Here's hoping he signs soon..
