Re: Group C: Spain vs Italy discussion
“Scandals and injuries are just reasons for us to be even more concerned about facing Italy,” Xabi told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“All this chaos makes us even more alert, because we know what the Azzurri are like. We saw you in 2006 with a big scandal, Juventus sent to Serie B and Italy winning the World Cup.
“Italy are combative and competitive when dealing with difficulties. The problems they are going through do not remotely relax us.”

Going to be a very boring game imo.
Spain to edge it though.

oh no, xavi and his barca mates are screwed if they dont play well enough. get ready for murinho troll quotes, especially xavi mou is out for revenge. I knew the response to xavi's comments wasnt enough from mou, he knew he would get his chance. if del bosq wants the best out of his barca players he should tell them that mou will be a paundit on one of world's biggest networks, that will fire them up surely
Not true at all Mourinho already responded to Xavi's comments and said that it was unneccesarry for Xavi to say it. I don't think he stirs up stuff unless he sees some advantage in it.
Wow... Mourinho is all over the place.... see him playing his iPHone and playing with the kid next to him last night?

If i learned anything after following Italian football all these years is :
You are winning ? Stop playing football ; when depends on the team , but it's 100% certain
If and only IF , they find themselves in a winning position during any point against Spain , next thing you know Cassano is a DM , Balotelli LB , Prandelli RB and the rest are DMs+CBs
An Italian can deny it all he wants , but do i know that they know that i know that they will , if it goes to this

I think what we're going to play, not that I agree with this but:
Buffon
Bonucci De Rossi Chiellini
Maggio Marchisio Pirlo Motta Giaccherini
Cassano Balotelli

Also , Giaccherini confirmed at the left .
because apparently , good football is the concern , not that Balzaretti sucks even more

Re: Group C: Spain vs Italy discussion
It will be Maggio if it's 3-5-2. Only if we revert back to 4-3-1-2 will Abate start. This makes sense because these are the formations that each player is comfortable with at club level.mtfootball wrote:Abate at RWB?

Probably about as as good as this Italy team can pick tbh if your going 3-5-2.
De Rossi will be fine in a 3 CB system as long as Chiellini is there, Bonucci was great in the this system towards the end of the system i have no issues with him in a 3 cb system its a when he's 1 of 2 cb's i have a problem
Motta is the closest thing to DDR in quality and style and against the better teams he has shown he is fantastic defensively.
I would also prefer Giach to Balzaretti.... Prandelli f*cked up royally not talking PDC, Santon or Criscito but it is what it is.
Giovinco and Di Natale can be impact subs, looks good to me tbh.

I am going to miss this match because I have to play football
I think Spain will win 1-0 or 2-1.

Re: Group C: Spain vs Italy discussion
It's now rumoured that Cesc will play instead of the strikers.
Very risky move, a false 9 has never worked in international football despite it's success club level.
