£35m for Martinez when you already have the best DM in the World at your club.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread Pt. 2
Carr is our head scout and responsible for signing all these players ffs
Anita big? he's like 5 ft 5 and scrawny as Busquets lol
Cant say i know much but doing my Dennis Wise way of scouting he doesnt look cumbersome, technique looks far from average as far as DM goes and tackling is overrated anyway
Anyway if our head scout likes him i trust him.

Javi martinez isnt worth more than 30 million even in todays market imo.

But seriously. He's not very good tbh. Barely stood out for Ajax even in a poor league like the Eredivisie.
Cumbersome on the ball, average technique, poor positioning, incosistent tackling, slow distribution. You're only interested because he's big (for his size anyway) & black.
He's simply another one of those 90% athlete 10% footballer scrubs that somehow manage to steal a living in BPL.
LOL, you are talking out of your ass. Last year he really stood up and he was one of Ajax's best players. Any Ajax supporter would much rather have him stay than see him leave. He's a very decent CDM and you would've known that if you had actually seen a fair amount of games (which your posts do imply). You also have to remember he's only 23 years old.

Its not whether he is worth that or not, his contract has a release clause of that much therefore teams have to respect that or go away, Bilbao are known for not selling their players at all forget at a low price lol

Yeah all the Ajax fans i have spoken to speak very highly of him and dont want to see him leave and it will be difficult us to complete a deal for him i reckon mainly due to Vertonghen leaving and others like Eriksen, Alderweireld ( who we also want) wanted by other clubs i cant see Ajax wanting to sell too many.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread Pt. 2
Javi isnt worth 40 million and 7 mil a year, and I say that as a big fan who has been shouting for his purchase for a while now. However, if Bayern (big European rivals) are about to buy him for €35 million, I say we should buy him for that amount. Assuming he wants to come, which is by no means a sure thing...

Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread Pt. 2
Javi Martinez is the most overrated player in La liga, he's nothing special just hype, I'd be sad if Madrid or any team pays more than 20 million Euros for him, not worth anything close to 40 million, the guy did almost nothing last season and was terrible in the 7 or 8 matches I saw him play last season.

More of a tactical, future and individual class buy, there are many thing involve in signing Martinez and when you consider everything all together then perhaps you say he's probably worth whatever we pay for him
I will try and break it down piece by piece to my understanding.
Tactical
Bayern needs someone to balance our midfield, at the moment we've individual class players as our CM/DM, say for example Schweinstieger is AMONG the best box to box midfielder in the world, Gustavo is PROBABLY the best destroyer in the world, Tymo ONE of the best tackler and Kroos is a very creative young player but he's not a natural CM.
Taking all this into account Bayern needs someone with a bit of everything, someone that can defending properly like a CB(Martinez), destroy reasonably(Martinez), physically strong(Martinez 6.3f), and while so also being able to spring attack(Martinez), just replica of what Yaya Tour used to be for Barcelona.
All in all I agree that Martinez is not better than Gustavo as a destroyer, or a better tackler than Tymo, but that is not what this transfer is all about, we need someone to balance our tactics, we need that missing link to balance the link between our DM and CM and the ideal person would've been Vidal but unfortunately envious Voller did the worst he could possibly do and refused to sell to us, even after we gave them Tony Cruz for 2 years. We've to address this issue, the lack of balance between out CM and DM, Gustavo Tymo are too defensive and Kroos Schweini are too offensive, so we need someone with a bit of everything to balance things up,( not just in individual attributes(Tackling/Destroyin) but also playing mentality(attacking and defending) currently there's no any other player in the world that can do this apart from Martinez.(perhaps there is but I am not a scout)
If we sign Martinez it will balance our midfield and we can finally avoid the types of problem that occurred when Schweini was injured last season..
Also Martinez say for example can play alongside
Schweini-Martinez
Gustavo-Martinez
Kroos-Martinez
Tymo Martinez
But Gustavo, Schweini, Kroos and Tymo can barely play alongside each other.
Martinez is can also play as CB and as we already know, Van Buyten is getting old and he's 34, he's injury prone and can not run to save his life, in worst case of injury Martinez can easy slot in.
Also Tymo is getting old, he's already 33 and no longer the Tymo we used to know, so this will probably be his last season with us and when he leaves, we'll be faced with another major tactical problem. Gustavo as our one natural DM and he's left footed, which is bad tactically.
Also, although we've a Physical team but our players are not good with heading most especially our CB, Badstuber is decent, Boateng is ok, Lahm is poor and Alaba is ok, which leaves us with only Gomez and Schweinstiger as our only players that can head the ball, Gustavo is not also very good nut he's with heading, so bringing in Martinez mean we'll also resolve this little problem
Future
Tymoshchuk: 33
Schweinsteiger : 27
Gustavo: 24
Kroos: 22
Tymo will probably leave next season, so bringing in Martinez mean we've 1 left footed DM and Right Footed CM(both feet actually)
Schweini-Gustavo
and one left footed(both feet actually) CM and one right footed DM
Kroos-Martinez
This brings about a complete midfield, that will play alongside each other at least for the next 8 years or more, so players like Can will easily slot in without any trouble, as a result saving us future expenses, while also winning trophies.
Pep influence
Although not quite serious it might be possible that Bayern ambitious to bring in Pep means we've to have at least 1-2 Spanish player in our team.
Athletic Bilbao
Athletic Bilbao are not a selling club, they only sign local players so replacing Martinez will be difficult for them, so for that reason Bayern or any other club that which to sign him must be willing to break the bank. Also Bilbao have a well respected coach Basler, who I believe is still in the club because Martinez and Fernando Llorente so if the board are to sell this payer the must show him that it is for the betterment of the club financially and it was a bid that they couldn't resist, meaning a bid that's is way above Martinez true evaluation.
Martinez have a long contract contract, which also plays a role in his market value.
Looking at the good side of things from Bayern perspective, our current coach previously worked with Bilbao so he definitely know one or two things about their local players and can probably speak a little bit of Spanish, Martinez have relative in Germany or his Girlfriend or something of that nature.
and also even if Bayern sign Martinez for 40million and Dzeko for another 20million we'll still report profit, so instead of giving the money to the government through taxes, then why not spend it on players....?

Nope. I guess he'll be used in a 3 man midfield when needed. Also, he can be played in that advanced role just ahead of the pivot. Would give us balance in midfield while not affecting the attack much.
I would definitely prefer Silva for the latter role but I wont mind Luka either. I've been a Modric fan since his Zagreb days.

Arsenal have agreed a fee with Rennes for
defensive midfielder Yann M’Vila. The fee is
£14million rising to a potential £18million, and
will become the Gunners all time record signing
if he passes a medical and signs a contract after
Euro 2012 finishes.

Young Dutch striker who's considered a big prospect. He's currently at Inter.

Yeah, falls in line with the idea of replacing Best with a young, raw striker to develop to go into the rotation.
He's probably being considered for the same reason Morata, Guidetti etc etc are being considered.

Who the heck are Fresh Football?
I watched a lot of Castaignos at Feyenord a couple of seasons ago, while I was keeping an eye on Miyaichi. He looked a really good prospect; raw, but it was obvious he possessed a lot of ability.
It's a shame he hasn't played more games at Inter. I always thought it was too soon for him to move clubs.
