That lineup might work, but it excludes Xabi Alonso, Di Maria, Kaka, etc. I don't see it going over well unless a few more players are moved out. Additionally, does Ozil play wide? I've only seen him play through the middle with Germany, RM, and Werder Bremen.

Mourinho is not going to start playing a 433, our team is built around a 4231, that pipe dream is gone for now.

@dontread, Ozil actually used to play LAM in Bremen when Diego was around, but that's not his preferred position, he is indeed better in the middle with the freedom to roam

4-2-3-1 is a great system , suits Madrid perfectly . Mourinho would be mad to change it to a 4-3-3 , at least as the main formation .

Against some weaker teams however , i guess it's quite feasible.

Giovinco officially returns to Juventus.

Parma have confirmed the sale of their half of Sebastian Giovinco back to Juventus, for a fee of €11m.

Reports emerged today that the two clubs who co-owned the 25-year-old star had reached an agreement for the Gialloblu to hand over their 50 per cent, claims later backed up by the player’s agent.

The news is now official, as Parma released a statement via their official website, announcing the transfer.

It represents a return to Turin for Giovinco after two years with the Ducali. The attacking midfielder is a product of Juve’s youth system and has already made 37 appearances for the outfit. Giovinco netted 22 goals and assisted a further 14 in 64 League appearances for Parma.

In other news Newcastle are supposedly close to agreeing a fee for Luuk De Jong with a £9.5m bid being touted.

And will also give an improved offer for Mathieu Debuchy but no word on how much.

I hope if Luuk goes to Newcastle he gets a fair shake despite Cisse and the others around. He's not going to perform anywhere near his best on the left.

Ba wont be around, so its only Cisse and yes i think he will play on the left.

I was made aware that he can play in both wide roles, SS or CF and he would be perfect in a wide role in the front 3.

Is that not true?

He's best as a CF but can play competently as a RF. As a winger or on the left though his game is severely limited.

It'd be a serious waste to play him on the left (or anywhere other than up top) in a 4-2-3-1 and I think he'd struggle.

Fair enough, as we have been tracking him for a very long time now i think we will know him inside and out so i trust us to get the best out of him what ever it is..... if it happens that is.
