Hier to the throne
Been wondering a bit here, how many of you can remember Managers in the same (relatively) position as Tito Vilanova, who then went on to bring the goods ?
Psychology is a huge part of Football of course, you guys think our players would react to the assistant coach previously as the head coach with pure ease?
I'm sure many already have this air of Tito not having the same leadership scent that used to be on Pep, but this aside, Can anyone remember other big club changes where the assistant took over and actually did as good or an even better job ? certainly we should not be greedy, 14 out of 19 is unearthly.... but were there many other assistant>head coach who did great as far as your memory can aid ?? many great names now were assistants at some points, but that is a different story.
Each squad has its own issues for sure, and this is just a part, the bigger trait is how he implements tactics and performs basically... but lets be shallow here for a moment.

He is going to do well. If he has learn't well then he will employ the same tactic or otherwise employ a different tacitc. Barcelona don't just get an inexperience coach unless they know he is the right man for the right job.

Re: Hier to the throne
His appointment assures the overall style of football Barcelona play will remain the same. The fact that Guardiola approved Vilanova's appointment says a lot. It will be impossible for him to win as many titles as Pep however, and that puts him under the immense pressure of Guardiola-era's shadow. I believe a main challenge for him will be to stimulate the desire in the players who have won so much. Guardiola once said it is hard to win but it is much harder to keep winning.
