Well, you don't really think these "awards" go to the actually funniest etc poster? They usually just go to the one with the most "friends", hence they are just popularity contests. Moreover, such things usually make new members feel left out. I'm really not in favour of such "Schwanzvergleiche" (=d*ck comparisons) as we call them in German.
