gago was great in 09 season though

there is nothing "great" about gago.. "good" - maybe. his best year was 07-08 under schuster and its not like he was ever considered a "starter" or at least not a "definite starter"

since that year he never improved for us, kinda just plateaued and got more reckless with his stupid tackles and beheaded chicken-ness.

i hope he does well with roma but we have no use for him, not even as a rotational player as id quickly take khedira, granero, coentrao over him.. id even more quickly put pepe in the midfield than have gago back.

Gago is officially a RM player. Roma refused to use his 7m buy out clause, but they are most likely going to enter negotiations to sign him. like i was saying low ball tactics. We should put him on Ebay

We can't at PSG. With Pastore, Maxwell, Lavezzi and Lugano, we already have all of our allowable 4 non-EC player slots taken. We're going to move Lugano if we get a CF.

Pastore is a AM/forward. That's where he's played at PSG. He is benched because of Messi, Tevez, Aguero, Lavezzi, Higuain and Di Maria. The attacking talent in Argentina is the best in the world right now.

Well if LE had stayed, this would've been wrapped up by now. Gago was earmarked early when LE came in so it makes a bit of sense that now that he's gone, so too is Gago, who Zeman doesn't appear to rate. Marquinho is seen as the better midfield option, but the irony in that is that Fluminense, who still own him, are asking for around the same price RM asked for Gago lol

I definitely agree that the price is reasonable. Hell, it's downright generous from Madrid.

This is just how we do business though when we don't have cash to burn. We low-balled Ajax to oblivion to get Stekelenburg. They wanted 10m for him, we offered 6m and then he forced the move through so that's what they got for him. I personally dislike low-balling other teams like that, but with a smaller kitty than last summer and no Europe this season, we'll see more of this in the months to follow.

tbh i have never seen us give in to a team low balling us, we just end up keeping the player or sell him off to another team
