I hope you will give your faith to SES more often now Regis. I can understand about Kevin Pauper Boateng. *bleep* him.

Overall a scrappy match by us but we simply look bereft of any confidence. Thankfully we played a 4-3-3 and our team finally possessed more movement as especially in the final third.

Our best players were Abate who defensively was solid while MDS showed his defensive and attacking class as we really have a gem in the making here. Under Tassoti's guidance he can easily bloom into one who is world class. Mexes remained solid although troubled by pace yet once again Bonera made our backline more shaky than it is. He truly is an enigma on HOW he manages to be picked. Our worst CB of all time.

Traore leads the Traore clan legacy of being below trash and having feet casted in marble as such is his skill. De Jong was tidy in passing and defensively anchoring the midfield well. Montolivo continues to be consistent for us with a 95% pass rate along today as he dictated our play well when needed.

Pazzini looks fatigued for some reason as since the Italia trip his confidence has been low. He has some decent passes today while movement also was improved. Lucky to not get a goal.

Special mention for SES who has repayed our faith in him. Looks far better when without Ibra as SES has taken a liking to leading the team as you could see his leadership by giving directions, commands and leading by example. He played a Left inside forward today but naturally drifted into his 10 position and made some incisive passes. Such a complete youngster. Carrying us on his back at the moment.

Allegri picked up a 1 match ban after he argued with the referee over his decisions in the last game vs Udinese.

Perfect line-up with what we've got to work with. Boa was benched this game. That's the only way he's going to learn to play with more discipline. He shouldn't get his starting spot back immediately. Perhaps he should be used as an impact sub next game, and if he performs well, he can take Traore's spot.

I recently looked up Traore on FIFA 11 (yes, i know it's not entirely accurate because it's old - and because it's just a computer game Laughing ), but his stats were a grandiose 59 when he was at Nancy. 59 is just about right to describe how he played today.

Also, great analysis Arq. I am so glad that Antonini was dropped for DS and that SES has been given a real chance to prove himself.

I know we've said it many times, but this is just another game where Bonera has demonstrated that he is a liability. I fear that it won't be until he scores a hattrick of own goals that he gets dropped.

LOL, I remember when Kaladze playing for Georgia v Italy scored 2 own goals. The difference between him and Bonera is that he was once world class, and Bonera has always been shite.

It took Allegri and Tassotti only 4-5 games to realize that a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 are the best formations for this squad and they finally played De Sciglio as the LB. Good going.

I'm a lot positive now, those EL places aren't looking impossible now. Razz

Still wondering as to who is going to be the Nocerino of last season. hmm

Abbiati is so annoying today.he keeps the ball for too long ,gets all the players back ,and then takes a stupid option.

We had de jong, ambro and nocerino on the pitch. I doubt it was a 4-2-3-1

El Shaarawy was playing wide right while Nocerino was playing wide left in an advanced position, with Bojan as CF. At least this is what it looked like to me.

The team was very good defensively but that may have been because Genoa was awful when attacking. We were just a tiny bit better than Genoa attack wise, We were clueless when we got to their penalty area but I suspect that that was because the team still hasn't gelled yet.

Yepes and El Shaarawy were our best players, the first was a beast in defense and the latter was everywhere and really worked his ass off. Stephan really deserves being tied as the top scorer with Cavani and Klose. Imagine if the rest of the team worked their ass off as these two.

Since we totally controlled the game this win will instill confidence and we'll be ready for Palermo.

Comments on Pato?

On Pato...
Not really that effective, showed a clear lack of game-time. Denied space by Genoa's defence and drew at least 2 defenders to himself whenever he got the ball. At least he worked hard and didn't get injured. Would like to see the chemistry develop between Pato and SES.
