The black beast

Everyone said it was going to be an all Spanish final but they forgot that both Spanish teams were going against their boogey men and themselves in a game that would decide the league. Yesterday more than anything we saw one thing, the weakness of the spanish mind. Barca would have won and should have won, Cahill left the game and so did terry the latter resulting in a 10 man chelsea. FC Barcelona got a penalty and the greatest player of the past decade missed it a la figo @ Juventus. Chelsea on the other hand were stronger in mind than in any other aspect, not losing hope or concentration. Ramires goal was the epitome of that.

Today we will see real madrid in the exact same situation, they will be against a team that has traditionally knocked them out of the CL. Real is clearly better if we look at it over a whole season, individually they are just better. However, lets all remember that Bayern has three facets which makes them favorites. First they are more experienced at this level and have the mental muscle to show it, you can ask Manchester about that. Second Real will not be able to outplay the black beast, they just have better passing and have worked more on retaining possession in a league that is not about possession. Lets remind ourselves that those two attributes are what gave Barca an advantage over Madrid for so long. The third and last facet is Bayerns ability to both defend and convert set pieces, a khedira goal like in the clasico just wont happen they are actually much more likely to score one like that tonight.

Tonight Madrid will have put men forward to attack and if they do so it will not be easy for them not to concede, doing so will automatically annul their advantage and requiring them to score atleast two just to be in the race. Any chance of extra time will benefit bayern more as we have players who simply can not last like Xabi and Ozil (Both pivotal)

I just dont see Madrid pulling this off. Congrats Bayern.

Its been a good run but la decima will have to wait.

Well if you start sentences with "I'm not racist, but..." you're probably racist, mate.

That being said:

Madrid is the more experienced team, they're playing at home and got an away goal in Munich. This tie is sealed and Real will surely win by a comfortable margin.

Congrats Madrid, Bayern had a good run, better to go against old and respected rivals, than going out against some minnows on a fluke.

Bayern will be back next year, and I wish Real good luck at the Allianz Arena in the final against Chelsea!

Bayern can't properly take out Madrids attack without risking yellow, so they will, at least at first, be too timid in their tackles, allowing Özil and Ronaldo too much space, who will close the game up early, thus forcing Bayern to chase the Madrid lead, opening up even more space, and conceding multiple times from counters.

Madrid 4 - 1 Bayern. :coffee:

You give Madrid way too much credit than they deserve. They didn't play any strong teams at all until Bayern and when they faced them they lost in Munich. Their players are overrated, no match for the black beats of Bayern who easily topped the group of death and destroyed Baselona and the great OM.

Yuri, I feel you work in the financial sector as your pessimism mirrors theirs. Also, as a natural born optimist, I believe in the team's abilities would outshine it's faults and while Bayern is an absolutely dangerous opponent (them knocking out Real would not surprise me as it happened before), I believe the team would pull through for its fans.

No reverse jinx, no voodoo, just plain old belief in one's side (without the flippy floppy ways of our resident Bayern fan)...

wore a bayern munich shirt the whole day ( and its black too lol ) ... because i know bayern have too much for us .. better keeper in neuer, badstuber and boateng are two of the better centre halves aroud . lahm is great and rafinha is the best south american full back

as for midfield, the best midfielder in the world in schweini, ably supported by rich man's ozil in kroos , the two best wingers in the world ( ronaldo who lol ) , and the greatest poacher of the generation
