I hope he doesn't need that surgery but if he does I hope they don't dwell too long and get it over and done with so that we can have him back asap

2 months min for recovery to do a knee scope (cleanup). With rehab and getting back in shape.... probably 2,5 months if not 3.

Re: Raphael Varane
No... there are no repairs being done. The issue that is causing the swelling is that scar issue that released naturally as a result of the first surgery is just floating in the knee. The body hasn't absorbed it. You just need to go in there and take out these loose bodies. So it just becomes a question of allowing the knee to heal after being cut open... and that's 8 weeks.halamadrid2 wrote:sportsczy wrote:2 months min for recovery to do a knee scope (cleanup). Re: Raphael Varane
Shame his career is finished now at such an early age. He'll surely never recover from this properly, lose his pace etc. etc. I pray for him.

Re: Raphael Varane
nice troll attempt. Messi's injury was more career-threatening since it could become chronic This was just a mild knee injury that needed to get cleaned post op. madrid have been dragging their arse about doing this since August, which i don't understand tbh.

Re: Raphael Varane
Harmstring injuries are standard but you never really fully recover from knee injuries. Look at Puyol. 500 operations since 2010. Such a shame. Varane.

Re: Raphael Varane
Dude, I have had two LCL injuries this year and I'm actually faster then when I started. Do your research, knee injuries don't directly affect speed unless you completely tear the ligament or it's the MCL
Don't get me wrong knee injuries are bad..very bad.. but Hamstring injuries are bad.. they'll keep coming back.. those are the worst. Most people always get knee problems, the thing is you hear the people who blow out their knee caps or completely tear the ligaments. ES92 plays with mild discomfort in his knee for example, you don't hear about that.
Anyways dude, it's just cleaning in the knee lmao. its not really an "injury". Sorry to spoil your fun

Re: Raphael Varane
I was thinking for some time who he reminds me of. The answer I came up with is Thiago Silva.
Think he can become something like him. He has the physical ability as well as the Intelligence to be something of a player Thiago Silva is.

Re: Raphael Varane
i've never really had faith in our medical team....i will give them some credit as i feel they've improved since that dreadful 2008/2009 season where a large chink of the team was always injured (or maybe its cos we just had so many dutch players)..hope varane gets fit soon though....i consider him a better defender than ramos and pepe

Re: Raphael Varane
Real Madrid's Raphael Varane is the best defender in world football, according to Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho, who re-joined Chelsea from Real in the close-season, installed Varane as a regular in the starting XI at the Bernabeu last term, with the France centre-back earning praise for his composed defensive performances.
The 20-year-old has been troubled by persistent knee problems in recent times but played 90 minutes for his country in a 2-0 win over the Netherlands on Wednesday.
Reports have suggested that Chelsea could move to reunite Varane with Mourinho, who was glowing in his praise of the former Lens man.
Varane is likely to be selected for France's squad for the FIFA World Cup in June, and Mourinho believes he will go to Brazil as the best player at his position.
"I would say (Eden) Hazard for sure, Neymar, Rafa Varane," Mourinho said when asked who were the young players to watch at the World Cup in an interview after being unveiled as Yahoo's global ambassador for football 2014.
"I think he (Varane) is the best central defender in the world, a young one I think he's the best. Already, yes. I think he's the best."
One young French defender already likely to play for Chelsea next term is Kurt Zouma, who signed a £12million deal in January, but was loaned back to Saint-Etienne for the remainder of the campaign.

I agree with him. Maybe not the best... I would rate Ramos and Thiago Silva ahead of him, but nobody else...

His hands are tied. Pepe is playing great and Ramos is an automatic starter.
