From Tite's wikipedia:

"This man became Brazil's coach when Dunga got sacked. He is an improvement, with that being said a snail would have also been an improvement on Dunga. Seeing the lack of forwards, his first action is to recall Romaldo."

Doubt there's a better Brazilian coach than Tite right now, and no way they hire a foreigner, so it's the best possible choice.

Rebs is 100% right. All things considered, it's the best we can hope for now.

He seems like a decent guy. He took a "sabbatical" in 2014 and went to study European football. I think he's a pragmatic coach who's had a lot of success lately. I'm not expecting miracles though.

I thought Micale did a good job with the under 20 team when he took over. Especially because he didn't have much time with them before the tournament. However, he seems to have a really strange selection process. It almost seems completely haphazard. I'm sure there were plenty of players vetoed by their European clubs like Ederson, Fabinho, Wendell, Wallace, and Thiago Silva which really weakened our defense but some of his choices were really strange. Felipe Anderson has been garbage for a while now (not just at Lazio but in the olympic team friendlies as well). I like Douglas Costa and I even think he should be the current starter for the national team but forwards and wingers was one area that we were well covered. I would have preferred Vitinho or Valdivia for a tournament like this and use the over 23 spot on a defender. I still can't believe the CBF decided to prioritize this BS over the Copa America. At least Dunga is gone.

I only know Marquinhos from the defense and mid, but that front 4 looks stacked for an olympics team

This Brazil team is so bad. Dunga should be calling up Marcelo and play to his strength. He'd create all their chances from his LB position. G Jesus isn't ready yet, he is still very raw

Dunga isn't coach anymore, its Tite.

That is also not the senior team, its the under 23 team coached by Micale

There is still all these hyped players there like Jeaus, Gabigol, Filipe Anderson and the more senior playerw like Neymar and Marquinhos so its hardly a poor team player wise

I know, I was just saying that Dunga isn't to blame anymore.

Besides, the olympics is a great time to try players, its an U23 tournament after all. Its weird to call for Marcelo.

Wasnt this list done whilst Dunga was still the coach. I seem to remember that, might be wrong though.

Seeing as he didn't play in the Copa it wouldn't have be too far fetched to call him up. You can call up to 3 over 23s iirc. I am just saying it would've helped having him there on home soil no less where Brazil need to win for pride and their people

Micale is the U23 coach and made the selections and his team. Not that I liked how they played the first game, but its on him, not Dunga or Tite. He even made it clear with the call up that it was autonomous and his decisions.

The team is too attacking altogether, they don't need more creators. They need stability and midfield.

Tite [Brazil coach]: "I didn't imagine Casemiro was this good. He dominated the game. I spoke with Zidane and he insisted that Casemiro is the player who gives Real Madrid balance. I decided to trust him and start him."

"Casemiro is well positioned in front of defenders, cutting the passing lanes and not letting the opposition be superior. I told him to be around and stop Colombia's best player, James Rodriguez. For Marcelo to help up front, he needs Casemiro and Renato to cover him, and the same method applies all around the pitch."

Casemiro was amazing helping keep James locked down.

Marcelo would be such a beast if he knew how to defend just a bit better. Even just slightly better positioning would make such a huge difference.

Me too. I think Allan and Diego Alves could be starters. I don't watch a lot of Serie A but Allan has looked good the few times I've seen Napoli and Diego Alves is by far the best Brasilian GK. Ederson from Benfica could also merit a spot on the bench.

So it the team playing like a team now or is it still chaotic and disorganized? Talent seems ok except for the keeper. Never heard of those keepers so it's more about ignorance for me there lol.
