CorSport link Nesta to Juventus

The Corriere dello Sport is today suggesting that Alessandro Nesta could leave Milan for Juventus in the summer.

The veteran stopper will be out of contract in June and he has reportedly been asked by friend Andrea Pirlo to join him in Turin.

The latter made the same Bosman move last year after his deal at the Stadio Meazza was not renewed.

The 2006 World Cup winner was linked with the Bianconeri earlier this year by Turin daily Tuttosport, but now the Rome based publication is running the story too.

Nesta, who celebrated his 36th birthday earlier this month, has been restricted to just 11 Serie A games this term.

The Roman centre-back joined the Diavolo in the summer of 2002 from hometown club Lazio.

I think NESTA could be great for JUVENTUS; but JUVENTUS also need to bring two fresh players like FALCAO and JOVETIC

Nesta is 36, on the verge of retiring, and would have to compete with Barzagli ( a top serie a cb), and Chiellini (a guaranteed starter and an arguable top serie a cb), where he could just stay on the team where he has a legendary status and doesn't have really much competition. He'll retire soon, and possibly at milan, but not at another top team. That's like saying ADP will go to milan.....

Why do we want nesta if we have barz and probably a new wc young cb is joining next summer?

That's assuming that at 36 he wants to be, or rather is capable, of playing every game.

Juventus has toyed with three at the back so many times this season, Chiellini has played LB a number of times too.

Nesta would be a fantastic addition.

Hes been a fantastic player but hes past it and is not the future for us.
And signing him for a bench role?? That too is a joke - give that bench space to Magnusson. Hes the future.
Were better off buying a younger quality CB who will play with us for 5+yrs

I don't see what's wrong with having Nests around, when we needed another experienced CB we only had Caceres and Vidal to cover in the end! Also Nesta > bonucci! :shisha:

The situation of NESTA at AC MILAN is similar to PIRLO last season;

PIRLO could not find space at AC MILAN because they already had enough creative players like; SEEDORF, IBRAHIMOVIC, CASSANO

I think NESTA and TIAGO SILVA do not suit together; and NESTA would be magical at JUVENTUS just like PIRLO
