Nesta ready to leave AC Milan for Juventus
AC Milan centre-half Alessandro Nesta is ready to leave the reigning Serie A champions for Juventus at the end of the season, Goal.com has learned.
The 36-year-old defender has an expiring contract at the San Siro side, and he is yet to make a final decision on his future.
Nesta is not ruling out a move elsewhere and would be interested in following in the footsteps of Andrea Pirlo, who said farewell to AC Milan in the summer of 2011 to join Juventus.
The midfielder has since developed into a key player at the Old Lady, and the centre-half is relishing the chance of starring in Turin as well.
Juventus are eager to add an experienced defender to their back line in the summer transfer window, and they see the former Lazio man as a valuable addition to their squad.
Bianconeri director Giuseppe Marotta is hopeful that the eventual signing of Nesta will have a similar impact as Pirlo's arrival at the club as the Old Lady are preparing for a return to the Champions League for the first time since 2009-10.
Nevertheless, the Juventus official will not make a move for the defender before having discussed a potential transfer with head coach Antonio Conte, and the latter seems to have doubts about the deal.
The trainer is unsure as to whether Nesta is in the right physical condition to feature at the highest level for another season, and will only give the green light for a move if the AC Milan veteran proves to be 100 per cent fit.

Nesta WAS a world clas defender.
Nest is NOW just a very good player
