Re: Is EPL truly in decline?
There's decline and then there's this lol.
Not only do EPL players look very average technically, the managers are looking incompetent with their abysmal gameplanning... there's no desire to overcome either.
Only saving grace is Chelsea (lol)... and that's because Napoli choked massively. Frankly, i don't think Serie A is doing that great either... but they don't have unlimited funds!
La Liga, Bundi and Ligue 1 are the only places where you have progressive + technically ambitious management both at league and at club levels.

Re: Is EPL truly in decline?
Exactly wut sports said. Truly it has finally been shown to light, Turok is pleased.
DL is DL after all. If chelsea had faced bilbao instead of Valencia... oh well chelsea are real lucky. luckiest team this year.
U care. since u bother to post in this thread. Football is winning today.

well you should lol... not just losing. Absolutely getting molested out there in every competition.
Think about it: The clear top 2 teams in EPL standings are getting spanked by La Liga's #4 and Portugal's #4. Neither are within sniffing distance of the top teams in those leagues.

Re: Is EPL truly in decline?
Wud have been alot worse for Manutd, city if they had faced barca and Madrid. the difference between the epl and La Liga are too great. today is a glorious day for football.
oh and for good measure: Varane > manutd backline. Varane wud have handled bilbao alot better than any person in the manutd defense that played today. Varane is just as good if not better than pepe ftr.

Re: Is EPL truly in decline?
Why would i care that United and City are getting owned? I care in the sense that it tickles me heartily and i enjoy rubbing it in to their fans, but other than that, i don't stay awake at night worrying that EPL teams aren't going far in tournaments
All i care about is my team and my team only

This. A lot of people here put far too much emphasis on league v league rather than supporting their own teams. Just so they can gloat here.

United and Arab-Oil FC might be in decline.
Chelsea seem to be re-surfacing.
Arsenal are definitely improving, which is all that matters.

oh sure, english media sure are Humble and Respectful right? right?
nope. the overhypping of some average league ends here.
Chelsea to get knocked out by the next team they draw so they can join their fallen brethren arsenal, utd, and soon to be city.

So a run of wins, despite being knocked out of all comps, suddenly means Arsenal are improving. While City and United are competing for the league, yet are in decline?
You need to explain that post better.

Re: Is EPL truly in decline?
Guess where Napoli is in Serie A.... 4th place. Seems like Serie A and EPL are pretty even given that Chlesea and Napoli occupy similar places at their leagues.
It's just funny because all EPL fans sing the praise and glory of the EPL... and then suddenly feel that fans should not support leagues but their own team when the EPL is exposed as a fraud.

btw... unless SAF gets a cupcake draw in CL, he gets destroyed. Every time he plays a good european team, his simplistic approach gets exposed.

I liked it more when Madrid were being smacked around by Barcelona year in, year out and their fan's stayed under their rocks
