It usually take more than one year for cycle to turn opposite way. For now, La Liga is much on top, Serie A is improveng, Bundesliga stable, EPL downtrend.

Re: Is EPL truly in decline?
Damn, a lot of hate shaved up for the PL. The seasons were pretty much set from the start.
ManU = Decent squad, but still no midfield. Vidic injured and VDS retired means their defense is shit. Giggs and Scholes can't do everything.
Arsenal = No Fabregas replacement, Wilshere out for the season, squad not as good as before.
Chelsea = Wanted to play a possession battle against Satan. Don't have the players to play it well. Torres is shit.
City = Billion dollar squad, but 2 cent mentality and shit manager. Barry and Milner suck ass. Toure is overrated as hell.

You want some talent?
Joe Hart
Jack Wilshere
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Theo Walcott
Daniel Sturridge
Danny Welbeck
Tom Cleverley
Chris Smalling
Phil Jones
we are ok I think.

tbh thats not as much talent as other countries have, i know what sport is talking about. England need to produce more talented players. the only players who have really proven to be really good talents on the European stage are wilshere, OX, sturridge and walcott, and thats just not enough.

Re: Is EPL truly in decline?
So does anyone actually have a legitimate reason to dislike a league? Because "their media overhype" and "their fans" are truly petty and pathetic reasons.
Football is all about cycles. This year has not been the year for Premier League teams, but you cannot mark a decline after one season when the teams in question have yet to be given the chance to improve and perform next season.
The idea that the Premier League is entering an era of mediocrity is far too premature.

I actually expect arsenal to improve. I dont expect the other three to do so however. Arsenal to be the only team to represent epl in cl next season. BELIEVE.

While chamberlain doesnt have wilshere-like technique, he still got better ball control than most european players.
If you want top class ball control then josh mceachran and ravel morrison could easily reach that standard, and it likely wont be long before a wonderkid from aston villa will be dazzling fans with amazing technique

Oh really ?
And those are the same petty and pathetic reasons which fans hate a certain club.I am not talking about you but lets not be hypocrites here shall we..I have seen Spurs being hated cheaply here and you from your own mouth said its just banter.I guess this is banter too ?.
I dislike it because i dont generally enjoy watching it and the brand of football they play .Some of the players and their respective team are gloated by media/experts/pundits and fans to such an extent that even Cruyff and Pele wouldnt even dreamt of playing such football and their players likewise. It is ofcourse a petty reason but what is not petty ?honestly
I am just having a good laugh of how Epl teams are getting dominated and outplayed by inferior teams when it is the supposed best league in the world with some of the best teams.that is all.

So because everyone uses those reasons to hate on clubs, that makes them legitimate? I don't agree with that line of reasoning. And at no point have I ever dismissed or even tried to justify the dislike for Spurs as "just banter".
I dislike it because i dont generally enjoy watching it and the brand of football they play
Good for you. That's a legitimate reason to dislike something.
Some of the players and their respective team are gloated by media/experts/pundits and fans to such an extent that even Cruyff and Pele wouldnt even dreamt of playing such football and their players likewise. It is ofcourse a petty reason but what is not petty ?honestly
But this is not legitimate. Somebody hypes someone or something up as good. So what? Dislike the person that's doing the hyping, not the thing or person he's trying to hype. Judge the clubs and players on their own merits that you can garner by watching them, not what someone paid to say those sort of things say.
I am just having a good laugh of how Epl teams are getting dominated and outplayed by inferior teams when it is the supposed best league in the world with some of the best teams.that is all.
I have no problem with a few jokes on the the Premier League's behalf. I can differentiate between banter and animosity. But when that line is crossed and people start spewing things like "overhyped" and "annoying fans" as justification for their dislike, I can't take them seriously.

Turok_TTZ wrote:I liked it more when arsenal was a more competitive team that actually challenged... where is that team now? Madrid and probably Bayern as well as Milan are the only ones who can challenge Barca currently. no current epl team has a chance against Barca.
EPL league leaders lost real bad to a team that Madrid wud spank home and away. Mancity is losing to a team who ive no doubt Madrid and farca wud deliver a 5+ goal fest.
a 6th place team in spain > 1st place in epl? lol do the math. La liga is better.
Bundesliga, Ligue 1, La Liga are on the rise. EPL in decline and has been for quite awhile now.
and for those who are wondering. when i say in decline. i say when it comes to europe. otherwise wudnt make sense.
I can't for the life of me understand ewhy people use this logic. No offense but seriously dude. By your logic, Hercules>Barce. Newcastle beat Yanited 3-0. I guess that makes them the better team eh?
