Lol. Coutinho is so much better than Oscar it's almost embarrassing given how much hype Oscar had. Coutinho was playing the Copa injured.
Lmao. Oscar disappeared for almost the entirety of the 2nd half of the season yet still tabled more goals & assists than that fraud.
Just because he dribbles better doesn't make him the better player.

I have hopes for Oscar next season. This is the first time in ages he has gotten a proper rest.

I see the trend is whenever Hans says something negative (or silly), just post an embarrassing Bayern moment?!
That should be made into GL law imo.

But seriously that comment, and this tournament performance, would be enough for me to give old dung the sack following this showing.
Coutinho was disappointing this tournament for sure too. He needs to step it up if he wants to play for the selecão again.

Everybody was disappointing. Oscar wouldn't have been able to do anything in his place.

Re: Coutinho
People love to blame the best player on the pitch when teams lose (which Coutinho was). I bet you Phil wouldn't be getting blamed if Nerman was playing.

Disagree IMO, only one person should be blamed because it's an individual sport IMO.

Re: Coutinho
Coutinho was ok because he's an ok player... you can't blame him for underachieving at all. In fact, i didn't think Brazil underachieved. Without Neymar, they don't have a WC player on the attack and their midfield isn't very good. Strength of Brazil is defense now imo.
I thought Alves had a great tournament btw. He was the only one that i thought looked sharp most of the time.

lol Coutinho is an "ok" player.
Just like Firmino hasn't had a good game in 18 months.

Re: Coutinho
I think it is silly to blame any player when team set up was horrible really ! Against Paraguay, I would have used Firmino little deeper , because they needed a player like him who puts a foot in, when needed...i dont know what was the teams plan in this tournament, everyone looked clueless !

Re: Coutinho
Someone will have to explain to me how Coutinho was considered 'poor' or just 'ok' for Brazil. He looked like the only player actually trying to win the game to me...and he was playing injured. Too bad he couldn't play every position on the field that team was just poor. Not to mention as others have talked about in the Copa it's just such a different style to regular football with so much fouling, holding and physicality that is let go. The thing is Coutinho is more like Iniesta than any other player he controls tempo, has great dribbling and the ability to make really nice passes and runs but is not necessarily the most prolific player on the pitch. He works best in a deeper role where he can bring the ball forward and create opportunities through link-up or opening space with his dribbling.
He is also only just turned 23 and still developing...his shot has come a long way.

Re: Coutinho
I would really like to see Brazil set up a little differently. Maybe have a more forward thinking coach. They have some really nice players but seems like no chemistry and some very weird team choices time and time again.
At least at the front why not set up like so:
There would be a lot of room for fluidity and all three of Firmino, Oscar and Coutinho press hard and have high energy, interplay and ball skills. Oh well.
