Re: Thoughts on Juve - Chievo
To think that Juve are going to win the scudetto this season AND also to think that Juve could sign World Class Players in January after 2 seasons of finishing in 7th shows that you know little to nothing about how football works these days.
Sure Juve have a chance of winning the title, but is it likely? No, look at our squad. We dont even have a top class CF.....
Do you remember where we were halfway thru the season last year? I guess you forgot... The rest of the footballing world didn't. Do you remember what happened after January last season? I guess not. I am a realist, and I can see that world class players and first place finishes are not likely right now.
We have to regain credibility before we can expect to win and expect to sign WC players. You are living in the past dude.

Lynx100 wrote:We were playing a 4-3-3 week in week out when he was signed, so no, my claim was perfectly reasonable and accurate.
if hes playing on the wing, in a 3-5-2 or a 4-2-4 then sure, hes not taking Marrones spot - but we are USELESS in a 3-5-2 and Padoin is USELESS in any formation we play
He shouldve scored with his clear shot on goal...
And anyone who thinks that signing Padoin-like players is going to win the scudetto is clearly delerious and clueless
I dunno why you are making Padoin as a scapegoat cuz i think he did pretty decent today.
And your first line doesnt make sense really tbh.
Thing is Pepe was injured plus he has some kind of preference for Bonucci in the starting lineup and he did say a few weeks ago that we have quality CBs and isnt keen to drop any of them.
I hope he realizes now that 4-3-3 is the way to go with the kind of personnel we've got.

Absolutely true. A tired Marchio + Pirlo is asking for trouble as a centre midfield pairing.
A player like Pogba wouldve been useful ey Devi??

Whos asking for WC players in Jan?! I just think spending 5 million on an AVERAGE player and signing him for FIVE years is frackin rubbish and stupid.
A deal like Caceras is worth its weight in gold. A deal like Padoins will send up back to 7th place.
Ive been watching and following football since before you were born. Show some respect. I am well averse with Juve's history, not just the last 2 years but the last 24. You want to start comparing football knowledge and Juve knowledge? Please... dont be silly.
When a team can get to 1st after 19 games unbeaten, its NEVER unreasonable to think they have a shot at the title. Maybe not DEFINTELY expect them to win it, but its well within the scope to think they have a shot.

Yup. Bouy wouldve been very useful too. Hes a different kind of player to Pogba though. He has the creative flair to be a playmaker from midfield, a Pirlo type who can make a game winning pass ever 45 minutes. Pogba is just a dynamic 'smash and grab' box-to-box midfielder with oodles of talent.
Well thats what I make of it from what little Ive seen of them

Your 24 years of following Juve is showing as you expect way too much from this team. Just because we signed him for 5 years doesnt mean he will stay here for 5 years. AND, he is a worthy bench player if he does stay for 5 years, ESPECIALLY under Conte.
Your lack of appreciation for the circumstance allows me to ignore your 24 years of watching Juve

Re: Thoughts on Juve - Chievo
Marchisio is tired? Juve plays one game a week. Your players really shouldn't be exhausted to the point that it's that noticeable Look at Milan, 10+ players injured throughout almost the entire season, playing in three competitions, yet they still run their asses off every game (well almost every game lol) and show a great desire to win. Maybe Marchisio is just off form, or his mentality isn't where it should be. Or maybe I'm over analyzing and he is just tired
Although I think most would agree that Milan is the better side, Juve has several factors going in their favour (lack of injuries and European football) and the scudetto race should go until the very end. However, over the past couple of games, Juve hasn't demonstrated that desire and grit that they have shown for most of the season. They will have to rediscover that mentality if they want to challenge Milan because at the moment Milan seem to want it more.

Who knows..maybe your right. Maybe hes not physically tired, maybe hes just 'mentally' tired.
Either way, the grinta is lost. now that we have been 'figured out' by the rest of the league.. I just dont see a PLAN B from Conte.
Milans players are, mostly but not all, a little above Juve players. Which is what you expect from a team thats been winning for years vs a team thats just starting to realise that it once was a powerhouse and is coming to grips with that

Re: Thoughts on Juve - Chievo
Yeah, I am kind of confused how people are claiming players are 'tired'. Mentally tired I think is what it is. Like some people have said, the players don't seem to want to win as badly as they wanted to in the first half of the season. I would rather lose a couple of games but win the ones that I should be winning than be undefeated and draw plenty of times to low - mid level teams.

The thing all is god until the chance when goal needs to be scored we miss that world class CF or SS. Matri is good and god knows I love him heck I even decided to grow my hair because of him but he can't do it on his own
Vuci is good but never found his form and conte uses him to wide

Re: Thoughts on Juve - Chievo
I think the whole 'undefeated' thing is possibly playing on people minds too much.
The mentality needs to change - a draw is not longer OKAY. Just being unbeaten is no longer OKAY

Re: Thoughts on Juve - Chievo
Matri is a prima punta. They hardly ever do it on their own. They need a support striker to play off them.
Prima Punta have a DEADLY knack of hitting the ball the first time and knowing where the goal is with their back towards it and knowing the right angles to strike at.
I think Matri has all that - hes not one of the best at it - but he has it. Its unfair to judge him unless you give him the service and he then screws it up.
