On uefa charge: "I've managed in 200 European games, and I was justified, so it's a surprise".
On Moyes lasting 10 years at Everton: "He has done a massive job there. When a guy lasts ten years, you have to give him credit."

Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has hailed the impact of Tomas Rosicky.
Rosicky has won great praise for his form in recent weeks.
“He has been fantastic for the last few weeks now, scored a great goal against Tottenham and was my man of the match in that game,” said the goalkeeper on Arsenal Player.
“He was great again here and hopefully he can keep going because when he plays like that he is a fantastic player.
“He can take people on in the middle of the park too. I think we dominated the midfield in the first half and he made the difference. He is fantastic.”

Everton boss David Moyes rates Arsenal legend Thierry Henry as the best player he's seen in the Premier League.
Moyes celebrates ten years with Everton this month.
He told the Daily Mail: "I saw him at the Emirates in December before he rejoined Arsenal and said to him if you fancy a game I can fit you in! It was like watching an Olympic sprinter in action. Great balance and a razor-like instinct for finishing."

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger sees Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as a long-term central midfielder.
Wenger has previously suggested that he sees the 18-year-old’s long-term future in that position, but admits there is development needed.
“I don't think he is ready to play in this role personally but he will certainly develop into it in the future,” the Frenchman told Arsenal Player.
“He will play [there] again but I think he has to play where he is needed basically. The most important thing at the moment is that he develops well.
“He had a good game but he still has many things to add to his game. That is the purpose now for his work, especially the fitness, the physical intensity to add to his game. That will certainly come if he works hard.
“You are not a star after five or 10 games, let's let him play 100 times and then we will talk again.”

Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson says they have Tottenham firmly in their sights.
Jenkinson believes that Arsenal can now realistically aim to topple Tottenham and claim third place by the end of the campaign.
“It is not out of our reach. We want to finish above Spurs, that is our main aim,” he told arsenal.com.
“Of course we want to get into the top four, that is a priority, but me and all the other lads want to finish above Spurs.”

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is adamant Robin van Persie will not leave this summer.
Wenger pledged to hold on to his 32-goal top scorer even if Van Persie snubs a new Gunners deal.
Defiant Wenger said: "We will not lose anyone to City or any other club because we want to keep our best players.
"It is very clear that we want to keep Robin and we will do everything possible to extend his contract. Robin is the leader of our club and I would just like to specify that he is not at the end of his deal.
"He is under contract until 2013 and even if he doesn't extend with us I would keep him."

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Alex Song is hoping to tee up another Robin van Persie wonder goal when Arsenal entertain Newcastle on Monday.
The in-form Dutchman executed a perfect volley to beat Liverpool in stoppage time at Anfield last weekend, which kept the Gunners in the top four of the Barclays Premier League.
While his penalty was not enough to help see Arsenal through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League despite a 3-0 win over AC Milan on Tuesday night - the Gunners skipper having a close-range effort clawed away by the goalkeeper in the second half which would have levelled the tie - Van Persie will nevertheless again be the fulcrum when Arsene Wenger's men look to see off the Toon Army.
It was Song's pinpoint, floated ball into the penalty area which was acrobatically dispatched past Reds number one Jose Reina by the Holland striker at Anfield - and Cameroon midfielder Song intends to deliver more of the same on Monday night.
"Everyone knows that Robin can make the difference in every single game he plays. We are happy and lucky to have him in our squad," said Song.
"I work well with him in training and I know how he moves.
"When I have the chance I try to give him a good ball, and if I do that then I know he can score at any time."
Despite the disappointment of failure to progress in Europe, Arsenal remain in the driving seat to secure another top-four finish after back-to-back wins over Tottenham and Liverpool.
However, there is not much between the leading sides, and Arsenal could again be left playing catch-up should results go against them over the weekend.
Song said: "There is still all to play for and anything can happen.
"We have a big game against Newcastle, and we know they are also in the fight for fourth place.
"If we win that, and open up a bit more space between ourselves and the other challengers, then we will be in a good position."
Without the 32 goals of Van Persie, Arsenal would probably now have been well adrift of the Champions League places following an inconsistent season.
Yet while the 28-year-old may be in sublime form in front of goal, he has no intentions of taking his eye off the ball.
"You can't dwell on things because there is always room for improvement," Van Persie said.
"I lost a couple of balls in the midfield area against Liverpool that I shouldn't have, so I am more interested in focusing on how to avoid that next time."
The Dutchman continued: "You always want to get the maximum out of your game - to make assists, to score goals, to be strong on the ball, to combine well with your team-mates and bring all these things together.
"It is rare that you can achieve it, but it has to be what you aim for and it is more important than pursuing one target."

Ducan Castles is a somewhat reputable journalist who writes for The National, a newspaper from the United Arab Emirates. He wrote an article claiming that van Persie had "provisionally agreed" terms with Manchester City, and speculated van Persie would almost certainly leave because City could offer him much more than we can.
As you can imagine, there are several problems with this.

If RVP joins Man City I will no longer support Arsenal, there is no loyalty if RVP leaves.
If he goes to Barcelona or Real I will understand.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has warned securing fourth place in the Barclays Premier League would still leave any team plenty of work to be done before thoughts could turn to another season of top-flight European football.
"Looking at the quality in Europe, it is going up, for any English team it is difficult. I have felt that for a few years now," Wenger said.
"Where it [Champions League qualification from fourth place] was just a formality before, now it is not.
"With Udinese we had two hard games, they are a top team in Serie A."

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Ridiculous article...Van Persie will NOT be going to Manchester City.
First of all I highly doubt we will sell him if we finish in a CL spot, and will instead run down his contract.
And secondly, he will not be sold to a team in the league...Nasri and Clichy were exceptions because they simply weren't world class players. Clichy was extremely error prone and had to be moved on, and Nasri was/is very raw and simply an overrated player. Every single game I've watched him play, he's been extremely average.
