Re: Pedro Rodriguez
Heheh, good one, but it's not mine off course.
If it was mine, the Chelsea one would say "Wtf, where is Pedro". Playing Cuenca vs. Chelsea was a good idea and he had a good match.

We played 3-3-4... Could have played Pedro, Alexis and Cuenca. :vagi:

Re: Pedro Rodriguez
Dat finishing. Back to his best again, made Alexis look like a lost dog in comparison.
Is this performance enough to win him a Euro spot? Too little too late? If its between him, Muniain and Adrian, he should go.
More importantly, lets hope he's back like this start of next season.

He definately hit form at the right time. He will be going to Euro's and now he has to work hard to get a spot in the side. Lets hope he does well and comes back confident for next season!

Re: Pedro Rodriguez
I could see Mario Gomez and Benzema outscoring him, depending on how far each goes.
RVP if he didnt have selfish Snijeder...maybe Hunterlaar though.
Pedro? Will he even be starting?

Re: Pedro Rodriguez
Well, we will see. I did forget about Klose and he was the 2nd top scorer in the qualifying rounds.

Re: Pedro Rodriguez
Huntelaar? You're asking if Pedro will play, but what about The Hunter? It looks like Van Marwijk doesn't want to give up on Kuyt even though he always plays like shit and he doesn't play often for Liverpool. It's like Pep's Keita obsession but worse. There's several line-ups which would blow one with Kuyt in it out of the water. Man, I wish he'd retire already. Just the two of them scored around 60 goals in their leagues, what other country could say that (except for Argentina, due to Messi)? We have the opportinity to play the EPL topscorer and the Budesliga topscorer but instead we bench one of these guys for Kuyt.
Anyway, I hope for Pedro he gets to play and plays like a champ. It's really going to be interesting to see if someone will be able to really replace Villa as the goalscorer for this team. Llorente has some pretty big shoes to fill.

Re: Pedro Rodriguez
I did say maybe...
I personally think him starting makes perfect sense, seeing as he was top scorer in the qualifying rounds.
But obviously there is problems with the line up.
To me it should be 4411 with Van Persie behind Hunter, Robben on one flank and Affelay/someone with more fitness on the other.
Obviously, if he is in love with Kuyt, or even worse, playing VDV out of position (like last game) then it going to suck for both Holland and Hunterlaar.

Re: Pedro Rodriguez
Playing both Huntelaar and Van Persie at the same time is going to be Van Marwijk's dilemma. He likes his two defensive midfielders, so we could say Van Bommel plus either of De Jong or Strootman. Who will play behind the striker? Sneijder's name is too big not to be put up there and you got Van der Vaart as well. He's tried deploying RVP on the wing, but it doesn't work.

Re: Pedro Rodriguez
I think Van Marwijk needs to be a little bit "Lippi" about this.
Forget the individuals, the team is what is important.
To me, VDV for sure shouldnt start and I also think Snijeder should park himself right next to him on the bench to be honest.

Re: Pedro Rodriguez
Did anyone see that Del Bosque said he would happily use Pedro as a left back?
Thoughts?
I think he could play there, but I don't see why he wouldn't just put Juanfran at right-back and Arbeloa at left.
Only thing I can think of is if he uses him there, but almost as a Dani Alves type player whom Ramos could cover. Busquets would then drop deeper. It would then be a back three shielded by Busi.
eg.

Re: Pedro Rodriguez
I don't see it. Pedro's main quality is making off the ball runs and putting the ball into the net. A LB can't do that. Crossing is not his forte, neither doing wing plays as LB should do. Plus, his defence game is a complete question mark. His stamina, speed, passing and techinque are more than good enough for a LB though.

Re: Pedro Rodriguez
Alba is doing fine and is easily the best LB in Euro even though he hasn't shone. Pedro would have to be a LWB or a LW who tracks back when the opposition has the ball. Its not great as he is reeknown for putting the ball in the back of the net. It won't happen as Arbeloa can play at LB and Juanfran can play at RB and you can even put Albiol and shift Ramos to RB. Just a thought and it won't happen

Re: Pedro Rodriguez
He is coming back to being old Pedro. Good. I hope he will keep it up. One of the better players so far in our team, should start consistently on the right, Villa when he will come back to being 100% should start on the left. Divechez to the bench.

Not even a slight acknoweledgement of your mistake in saying that Pedro is rubbish and he wouldn't be back

How did he play? I missed this game. 16 games without a goal from him...

Re: Pedro Rodriguez
He had a good game IMO. He was dangerous, but unlucky. He made a terrific assist for Messis second. I just think this guy is out of luck lately, otherwise i like how he played this season so far.

Re: Pedro Rodriguez
Yeah good controll and shot early on and wonderful assist but imo, he had a poor game for his standards. Tried too much tbh, made the wrong decisions in attacking moments and lost the ball alot. Didn't look confident infront of goal which was worrying.

Re: Pedro Rodriguez
He lacked confidence in front of goal, but minus that a good game and offered the only threat in behind other than Messi. Very good pass for Messi.

Re: Pedro Rodriguez
Pedro showing what a player he is with Spain. Provoked a penalty that ref inexplicably didn't whistle and scored and created single handedly the goal.
Wished he played like this for us, but he doesn't obviously for technical instructions, showing again that he plays perfectly the role assigned by our coaches (although I would prefer him to play like past seasons).
Pd. Allez les bleus!
edit: now Pedro got injured, f*cking la roja! Hope it's not serious...

Re: Pedro Rodriguez
I don't understand this with Pedro, why the hell is he scoring so much for Spain yet he does not even make a single run for Barca?
