The system and team he created is just monstrous, we are one of if not the favorites for the world cup. But with the talent we have could any good/decent coach make us this successful? We really have only been crap in the past few years under mediocre coaches(maradona and btista)

Messi been involved (scoring or assisting) 57 goals in 78 caps for Argentina. Not bad considering how totally s*** he is for them.

It's not that he is shit, he just doesn't get the ball enough to be a constant threat like he is for Barca, but the few times he does get the ball he tends to be very dangerous and very creative...

Very nice attacking display from Argentina, however incredibly fortunate to hold onto a clean sheet as Venezuela were foiled by themselves more than the Argentine defence on most occasions. If Fernandez is starting in the World Cup then one can pretty much expect a spectacular collapse at any moment, it's mind boggling that he always seems to be playing whenever I watch Argentina.

Even if Venezuela had scored, one got the impression that Argentina would have very easily added another to restore their buffer, however Argentina need a central defender to step up before 2014. Not that I would consider Campagnaro to be a solution, but was he in the call-up for this game?

Yes he was, although for Argentina he is usually deployed as a LB rather than CB. It seems Sabella trusts the Garay-Fernandez partnership. Coloccini was a sub prior to becoming injured.

he was back in training before our game against Mallorca so yes he is fine I believe

I am sure Messi and DiMaria can work things out without Kun and Higgy. hasn't Tevez been called up btw?? now would have been the ideal time for him to start

The Bolivia game is the type of game we need the likes of Icardi Barcos and Scocco in the team for, now we will have to use Palacio as Higuains replacement. Lavezzi hasn't convinced me with the national team ever, his end product is just abysmal. So the front three of Palacio Messi and Lavezzi will be risky but its pretty much the only option (or di santo ffs :facepalm:

)

I think Basanta should start over Fede or Rojo, as he is used to the altitude and all.

Di Maria is avail to play vs Bolivia jiopsi. We'll be fine. Lavezzi was fine vs Venezuela, he had a sacrificial role where Sabella asked him to press very high and get the ball back. I expect Basanta to play given that was the reason we called him up.
