So I'm planning to get it in the summer. I know RealGunner is also gonna buy one, do any of you guys have or plan to buy one? It received great eviews but performed poorly in terms of sales in Japan,not sure about performance in North America. Game library looks amazing; Uncharted, Resistance, Assassin's Creed, Mortal Kombat, Bioshock, Call Of Duty, FIFA etc. All the big franchises with standalone games for the Vita, not cheap console ports. The system is all the most powerful portable gaming device in the market right now. Has PS3 like graphics and most importantly, a right analog stick

Yes I'm going to buy it ... though yeah the release of the Vita didnt harmd 3DS at all , they are still keeping the japanese market for themselves and are going to release some games the next 3 months that are supposed to be godly there ...I need that FIFA 12 on Vita and Uncharted

When will Sony realise that the handheld market is a seperate market and has to offer something different than the console market.......

All this is a Portable console with console ports, this offers nothing that the PS3 doesnt........

Predict it flops just like the PSP did because Sony still doesnt understand how to approach the Portable market.

not gonna buy it.... had all the old PSP's and they ever released anything good for them...it was the same old shit....

DS>PSP.....because atleast the Nintendo knows who their market is, and puts out the rights things for them....while Sony so far has been doing nothing....

Actually Dragan it did, it was suppose to be Sony's attempt to dethrone Nintendo and it failed miserably it was utterly annihilated by the DS.

DS even outsold the PS2, does it mean PS2 is a flop? Because of the price, it became the best selling console of all freakin time. PSP generally performed well, towards the end sales really waned as with most consoles. Vita really looks amazing, most complaints about it are the poor camera and battery life.

PS2 was the worse console in terms of power and technology in the previous generation again domination......

how exactly were they the worse in terms of technology....both of them came with the release of ground breaking media in the cd and dvd and set the bar for all other consoles....

True ... the Dreamcast had amazing graphycs for those times ... but Sega were sh1t at marketing , and that was the end ... now I cant play Shenmue 3.

PS1 was weaker than the others but read up on the n64 it had a 64bit cpu that couldn't be utilised because using 32bit code made more sense because of speed and storage...not to mention they used RDRAM which gave game developers limited performance....

also the dream cast although it had good graphics failed.

i need to read up on the specs of xbox and game cube aswell because i dont think they had better hardware.

i owned a psp for a while til i gave it to my lil bro so it wouldnt be there for pure decoration

atleast DS can offer nostalgia, i actually bought it purely for that (big fan of zelda and mario games).

i know iOS devices doesnt count as handheld consoles but these things really get the market right. instead of making normal games they make simple games that are addictive and are there for time wasting. but really the best of it is that it's a cellphone and not a console becouse honestly i'll never go around with a psp in my pocket, but i'll always have my cellphone with me

It seems like the idea of Sony's handheld consoles seems to be = Miniature PS/PS2/PS3

If we put it that way, then yeah, PSP is a success. Given the number of good games they brought to the portable market.

While Nintendo's idea of a handheld console is it's just another console and not miniaturised version of 64/GC/Wii bringing a different gaming experience than your ordinary console.

I still chuckle when my friends tried to teach tricks to their nintendogs >_>

Nintendo have been the kings of the portable market for nearly 2 decades you may not like what they do but the sales speak for themselves its clear the majority like what they do.

They obviously understand the portable gaming market, the success of the Gameboy and all its iterations and DS and all its iterations speak for itself.
