Problems with Lotito and lack of activity in the transfer market cited as the reasons..

Re: Reports - Reja has handed in his resignation
Sad to see him go honestly, from a football perspective anyway. He's a great coach. One of the best Lazio have had in recent years after Rossi and Ballardini.

If it is true then I'm quite sure Lazio will decline pretty fast.. hope I'm not right about this though.

Re: Reports - Reja has handed in his resignation
There is chaos at Lazio after boss Edy Reja is understood to have resigned as Coach of the capital outfit.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the tactician sent a fax to the club offices at around 3pm local time this afternoon outlining his intention to walk away.
Lazio are still pondering whether to accept or reject Reja’s letter of resignation.
Reja has reportedly chosen to end his Lazio career after his relationship with President Claudio Lotito and sporting director Ighli Tare broke down.
The tactician has made no secret of the fact that he was left disappointed by the club’s work during the January transfer window.
There was also conflict at the weekend as the duo are understood to have questioned the tactician’s decisions following their 5-1 collapse at Palermo.
According to La Repubblica, Reja has decided to quit but he has agreed to still take charge of the team for Thursday’s Europa League game at Atletico Madrid. They are 3-1 down from the first leg.
Lazio have lost two of their last three games in Serie A and they had to come from two goals down to beat Cesena 3-2 in the other.
Former Lecce boss Gigi De Canio is already being touted as a possible replacement for Reja once the team returns from Spain.

I dont care about Lazio, the important question is what does this mean for the future of Hernanes?

Re: Reports - Reja has handed in his resignation
Edy Reja is excellent at laying foundations at a club
do you know which club he managed before Lazio?
he managed Napoli
he took them from Serie C to Serie A
he bought in and bred players like Hamsik, Lavezzi, Gargano and Maggio
fantastic coach highly underrated
and will probably find a job in no time

Agreed, Punk.
He's a great coach. Lazio lost their ambition. Time for him to move on. He'll be forever tainted for me though naturally.

Re: Reports - Reja has handed in his resignation
Edy Reja has named what could be his last starting line-up as Lazio Coach and is able to name a more convincing back-line.
Without a host of defenders at the weekend, Reja was forced to change formation and name just Andre Dias as an available stopper in the League match at Palermo. In the wake of the subsequent 5-1 defeat, Reja handed in his resignation and had the club reject it, but has still indicated that his intentions will only be made clear after this evening’s Europa League clash.
The Coach has better options available to him, with Modibo Diakite, Luciano Zauri and Senad Lulic all returning and likely to feature alongside Dias at the back. Youngster Enrico Zampa starts.
Stefano Mauri makes his first start since returning from a serious thigh strain, whilst Libor Kozak deputises in attack for the absent Miroslav Klose. Federico Marchetti is only on the bench.
Atletico Coach Diego Simeone, meanwhile, is without playmaker and former Juventus man Diego, who was ruled out this week with a hamstring injury.
Atletico Madrid: Courtois; Juanfran, Miranda, Godin, Filipe; Assuncao, Gabi; Adrian, Arda Turan, Koke; Falcao
Lazio: Bizzarri; Zauri, Diakite, Dias; Lulic; Zampa, Ledesma; Mauri, Hernanes, Candreva; Kozak
Referee: Martin ATKINSON (ENG)

Re: Reports - Reja has handed in his resignation
Edy Reja has opened the door to the possibility of remaining at Lazio, by suggesting that his resignation on Wednesday was not irrevocable.
The 66-year-old Coach handed in his notice in midweek, but was ordered by President Claudio Lotito to still take the team to Madrid for their Europa League clash with Atletico Madrid.
Whilst the club rejected his resignation, Reja’s Press conference the same day left the door open for his departure. However, speaking hours before Lazio kicked off their European knockout match against Diego Simeone’s side in Spain, Reja suggested he might now stay.
“I never told the fans my resignation was irrevocable,” he stated briefly to Sky Sport Italia, whilst sporting director Igli Tare offered further hope.
“I think [he’ll stay] because the fact speaks that he is here with the team. But I think we need to talk more about the game today.”
