Re: The Illusionist : Don Andrés Iniesta
Iniesta has now an unbeaten streak of 38 games in all competitions (30W - 8D - 0L) #fcblive Club record: Puyol 57 [via @barcastatistics]
He also has 52 games unbeaten streak in La Liga.
He shouldn't play at winger to accomodate Cesc in MF. Pep is using him far too much as a winger lately.

The Franchise wrote:Nope, for me none as good.
However, I think 58 Brazil were next closest.
Pele for me, was the 3rd best after Garrincha and Didi..which tells you something.
You mean from the 1958 world cup? if so that'd be because pele was only 17. Didi was the main man at that time.
As a duo i'd prefer laudrup and platini for juventus for example than xavi and iniesta, but of course messi is the trump card that takes it to another level

Re: The Illusionist : Don Andrés Iniesta
His unbeaten streak of 42 games in all competitions is over. Unbeaten streak in La Liga and streak without a loss in career with scoring a goal for Barca and Spain are still ongoing.
He MUST start in midfield, not in LW on Saturday and Tuesday, otherwise we're doomed.

Re: The Illusionist : Don Andrés Iniesta
Me and Riquelme shares the same opinion. Take a note Franchise

I am still learning from Iniesta, says Riquelme
Boca Juniors idol Juan Roman Riquelme has admitted that even at the age of 33 his football apprenticeship has not finished, and that he is learning new things every time he watches Barcelona maestro Andres Iniesta take the field.
The former Barca and Villarreal playmaker returned to the Boca first team on Wednesday after missing several games through injury, and was on top form as he scored in the Argentine side's 2-0 Copa Libertadores victory over Zamora.
The Xeneize qualified second in their group behind Fluminense, and their reward is a meeting with Chilean side Union Espanola in the last 16.
Speaking on Thursday night, Riquelme showed his humble side as he admitted that, as a professional footballer, he would never stop learning new things from the best in the world.
"I always tell the young players that they have to be learning every day. For example, by watching other players. I watch Iniesta and I realise that I could be doing new things still," the veteran explained in declarations published by La Razon.
"We all have to be less arrogant."
Returning to the subject of Boca's Copa chances, Riquelme affirmed that his goal was to take the Buenos Aires giants at least to the final.
"I hope that Boca can make it until the very end. But to do that, we have to play exceptionally well. Boca are doing well, it is not easy to play every three days but we have lost three games and in all those the team that won has not been better," he stated.
"They have beaten us thanks to set-pieces. Even when we don't play well the opponent has not outplayed us, that gives us confidence."
Boca will be back in action on Sunday, when they travel to Cordoba to play Belgrano.

Re: The Illusionist : Don Andrés Iniesta
rg, thanks for that post and all your comments here. I must say I have the highest respect for you as a poster and given your adulation for my favorite player, the regards only multiply.
As for Riquelme, I couldn't thank him enough for all that he has said about our team and my favorite player.
It's a strange day to be writing this given that last night after a long time Iniesta was given center stage in a big match. He was the link between the midfield and the attack and along with Messi was expected to run the final third. He failed and I don't want to make excuses for that. I did however like that my request for having Messi and Iniesta play in tandem was accepted so soon by Pep. One school of thought is that our players including these two didn't want to spend all their energy last night since the bigger focus is on Tuesday. So while I hope to see these two play in tandem once again on Tuesday, that really is the acid test and if we fail there, we should just accept failure rather than trying to find any justifications.

Euro 2012 Player Of The Tournament - Andres Iniesta
I told you all it was my dream and the dream came true.
If you all stayed near me then I think I would have taken some of my fellow Barcelona fans whom I have interacted a lot with for a treat with all expenses on my account.
Let me simply say that I am absolutely thrilled. All I want to do now is celebrate and party but unfortunately there are too many things to take care of especially at office.
I wrote a few days back that the Euro 2012 trophy and the tournament best player award could be wonderful early wedding presents for Don Andres.
However while I am delighted beyond words at the moment I must not forget to thank the two individuals who predicted this would happen even before the tournament began and whose encouragement gave me hope.
Khaled and Kizz, take a bow.

Re: The Illusionist : Don Andrés Iniesta
The MVP for Spain this tournament. What a performance. Xavi and Fábregas did an awesome job making Pirlo invisible and all Andrés did was shine. God, I love this team and its players. I'm glad he's the player of the tournament. He really deserved it, and as a bonus it also brought a little dough in my pocket (not much, but everything counts). The Don.
Re: The Illusionist : Don Andrés Iniesta
He probably plays better for Spain cause as someone mentioned Messi isn't there so everything can go through him. What a marvelous player when he retires he'll be a top 5 player of all time.

Re: The Illusionist : Don Andrés Iniesta
I agree with that guy, and not just because he has the same name as me, but great minds do think alike. No one shows up to big games like Iniesta, the 4-1 loss to Madrid in 2008 he was our best player, the thinngs he can do.

You know what. Most of the predictions were that Germany will win the tournament and Ozil would be MVP. That makes me smile even more now.

Many congratulations and best wishes to Andres Iniesta on the day of his wedding.
Am I the first person to be posting this?

Re: The Illusionist : Don Andrés Iniesta
I was unaware he was getting married but there seems to be a spate of weddings at the moment, Aquilani and Casillas have just recently tied the knot I believe.
Hope he'll be very happy, congratulations Andres.
