Thiago Silva is the best defender in the world?

Thiago Silva for me, without a doubt is the best defender in the world. I'm sure you could put him at fullback and he would still be just as dominant. The guy is a total monster. A complete player.

As for Chiellini, sure he's a bit more prone to a silly mistake than Silva, but when Chiellini is on his game, he's unpassable. Chiellini is very fast and athletic as well. Ibra has said that Giorgio was the toughest CB he's played against. He was outstanding today vs Catania. To me, him and Silva would be the first choice CBs if I were building a team. I rate them both higher than Vidic. (who is up there, too)

A serie A all-star team would probably have Chiellini and Silva in the heart of the defense.

Chiellini provided the brawn, while Silva provided the brain

Exaggerating a little bit, that team could probably 2-5-3 their way through

In current form, yes, but we all know Chiellini is capable of world class performances.

Him being shifted off to LB doesn't help.

He done very well in the game today....but so did TS. TS seems to be less spectacular type than Chellini

he was meh that game imo

got a unnecessary card and his clearence was slighty at fault for goal
