Arteta
I dont remember if it was this forum or the old goal.com one.
But I remember a thread somebody made questioning Artetas loyalty to Everton. Saying he was wasting his career and would never get into the Spanish national team.
So now hes had his move to a glory team. Is he fulfilling his potential? Is he any closer to the national team ?.
Personally I think hes made a step backwards. He used to be an exciting player to watch at Everton. A game changer. But now he seems mediocre. Don't think hes ever been further away from getting a national team call up.

Re: Arteta
well, he has droped back deeper in position, and he is not a risky pass taker, a bit slow and I feel like he's slowing the team down. But apparently his high passing accuracy is the way to go by, people praise him for that, but all those passes are sideways and back, even denilson could do that. I'm not impressed, he's not spain material, and not first 11 for arsenal.

Re: Arteta
tbh at this point you'd have to grow wings to get into the spanish midfield so he didn't have a chance in the first place...

Re: Arteta
I rated him higher at Everton tbh. Still a good player for Arsenal.

Re: Arteta
I still like Arteta's class.
I don't like his attempted tackle on AOC's OG this afternoon. Bounced off the man like a rubber ball.

Re: Arteta
He has been one of the best CM in the PL this season, At Everton he had a different role, thus what he did then was more noticable then it is now. Not to mention when RVP gets motm every match, its hard to notice others
But i still believe He will be even better once Wilshere comes back, Atm Ramsey has been playing average hence our midfield looks average as well

Re: Arteta
Before his injury, everybody was saying he was Arsenal's best midfielder, one of the best in the EPL, and tbh it was somewhat merited because he never had a bad game. Now that Arsenal are playing like crap Arteta isn't good enough?
No matter how well he played, there was never a chance of him getting a Spain call-up playing for Everton. He maybe should have gotten one, but he never did. His chances after playing for Arsenal are much greater.

Re: Arteta
Can't help thinking it this way: Fabregas was a player that helped Arsenal compete for trophies. Arteta is a player who helps Arsenal compete for a top-4 finish.
He's all right. Not a player I'll be worried about when we play them.

Re: Arteta
He also played for Everton for awhile Art
I rate him very highly, without his injury problems I'd say he's amazing player who deserved at least a call up but I'm not suprised it never came.
Has alot of time tho, his style will age well, would slot nicely in at Bilabo next to javi Martinez behind Ander. He can definitely teach Iturraspe and javi a couple things....as well as bring a calming presence.

Re: Arteta
Mediocre? Lulz, have you even watched an Arsenal game before vs Milan? He's playing as a deep-lying midfielder, and controlling the game, which is helping Song to advance at times, helping our back 4 too. Nothing what Cesc did, so I don't get the Cesc vs Arteta comparison.
We still haven't replaced Cesc.
