Now that Arteta's out...
for probably a couple weeks at least...who should we play in his position?
Truth is if we've got no one who can control the midfield like him with such composure. He knows when to jump in attack and when to defend cause he reads the game so well.
Tbh, I think we've only got 2 viable options here. Drop Rosicky into his role and play Ramsey/Ox/Benny further up, or go with Diaby and keep Rosicky in the AM spot.
What do you guys think?

Re: Now that Arteta's out...
If Coquelin can recover than I'd play him there. If not then Diaby time to actually tell that he's worth keeping him this summer.

Re: Now that Arteta's out...
I can bet any money Ramsey will play no mater how fit Diaby and coquelin are.
Wenger would have benched Cesc also to just prove us all wrong about Ramsey.

Isn't Ramsey's real position a DLP?
They guy isn't crap, he is just low on confidence. Play him there instead of AM and LW and maybe he can regain some of the confidence he once had.

Re: Now that Arteta's out...
Are we playing Santos in the right position?
I swear he could player better anywhere in the field, even as a striker. Since wenger loves to experiment new things, Gibbs LB and Santos on the wings, or midfield with Song?
Anyone thinks I am crazy here? Santos is the best replacement for Arteta?

Anyone but Ramsey, I would even take Denilson over Ramsey.

Re: Now that Arteta's out...
Diaby is excellent in Arteta's role but obviously Diaby is Diaby. Benayoun wasn't effective there as we saw against Swansea but the alternative is Ramsey so it's a sticky situation.

yeah, he is above average at LB for me... I used to hate Gibbs but he has changed my view of him this season. Ever since he returned from that long injury when we didnt have any full backs available, Gibbs has been SOLID.
Santos should get some run at LW though imo. Especially if wenger will play Ramsey there

Re: Now that Arteta's out...
Santos shocked me with his tangoing in the penalty box. All of his shots were terrible but his footwork was intricate. Obviously he can play on the wing, I think playing in Arteta's spot is too demanding of him, it require too much composure.

Re: Now that Arteta's out...
I'd play Ramsey. Every time he's played deep, he plays very well. Playing deep suits his workrate, passing and is his natural position. He just needs to keep it simple, but this is easier when you have more players in front of you and have more defensive duties.
His AM results... we all know them. I honestly don't understand. It's like having your top of the line graphics card stolen, then trying to play Crysis or something. It just ain't gonna run.
He tries too hard to be like Fabregas, when he clearly does not have the skillset or flair, yet, and maybe not ever. I am pretty sure it's all Wenger's doing, as usual showing his massive faith in his youth and expecting him to fill in Fabregas' shoes like nothing happened. No other explanation.

Re: Now that Arteta's out...
Sorry, I'm not convinced yet that Ramsey has earned a spot in our XI, even with Arteta sidelined. Much rather see Benny, Diaby, Coq... many others before AR goes out. This is Chelsea. They're a bunch of c-----s, but they're on a roll right now.

Ramsey this is the role he used to play well in and I think he can do it again .

Ramsey will prove us all wrong just wait and see

Remember the back flick against barcelona at camp nou? which led to goal. Cesc also tried tricks and flicks but he knew how to excute while Ramsey is still learning.aleumdance wrote:
