he has been like this all season mate
that why he did not start last 2 games, lost his place to Rosicky
but Miraculously got it back against Milan

Re: Wenger is old
The better players were handicapped due to Milan converting their pitch to a corn fieldchad4401 wrote:cause you want to win  , seriously if you had some better and more experience players the pitch wouldn't have been so much of a problem at all, no plan b and actually just poor from wenger
Seriously, justifying the ploughed field? We cheated, but it's your fault because you couldn't adapt to said cheating tactics?

Lex these are professional footballers who train virtually every day
the idea that they cant adapt to a poor pitch is laughable
i play on worse pitches every weekend and dont have trouble moving the ball about and controlling it properly
and thats me playing once a week and not training the pitch is no excuse
Milan play on this SAME pitch passed the ball about and plundered 4 goals
Thanks Julias
Wenger apologist are master excuse givers just like Wenger

Re: Wenger is old
I have to say, I dont think the pitch was much of a factor.
If the ball went out wide and it got stuck up, then I would buy that theory. But Arsenal didnt even get the time to get the ball out wide.
When the got the ball, they were quite direct with the passing and tried to get it to RVP quite early. Thiago Silva was excellent at reading and getting in front of him for that.
Maybe I could be convinced otherwise, but I didnt really see the pitch being a factor.

You don't go to Silverstone with a Formula 1 car, expecting tarmac, then find it's been converted into a dirt track and have race officials tell you to "adapt"

Re: Wenger is old
The henry substitution was cringeworthy.
Another piece of tactical buffoonery was putting chamberlain on the right where he clearly struggled to make an impact. Much much muuuuch more effective on the left where he can cut inside and influence the game. What was he supposed to do on the right? run to the corner flag and cross it no one?
should have started :
chamberlain - van persie - walcott
i really think the performance could have been so much better with that attack, thats the only line up capable of giving van persie decent service

Players always abandon him when he need them the most, just to mention a few, last year alone, Fabregas, Clinchy and Nasri all left, I mean they weren't even that good until he made them who they are now and they just left like that...
Maybe Wenger should look forward to grooming English, Scottish, Ireland and Welsh players.

I feel Milans midfield was there to be got at. Arsenal however focused soley on wing-play and pace and whenever the ball came into the midfield they were outnumbered. Milans midfiled was never pressured and allowed easy distribution of the ball to Ibra to conduct the whole game.

Ok then good sir, since you obviously seem to know better than Wenger, who holds a master's degree and has guided Arsenal to a plethora of trophies in the past (of which you probably aren't aware of) how, exactly, would you have handled tonight?
And please don't be shy, i want tactics, players and subs and overall gameplay. Take your time.

I have been a Gooner since I was 5 years old mate
and it was right after 2007/08 that you could clearly notice Wenger losing it..
this season is by far his worst in terms of tactics

Re: Wenger is old
people already knew that milan's pitch would be like this lol
there were videos all round the net about the state of milan's pitch and lets face it these are the things which give a team advantage at home, you have to capitalise on the advantages they give you and if youre the away team minimise those perks gained by the home team.
