Re: Official call up thread
yeah, its being commented a lot, everyone(or at least most people)wanted kaka back.
its being very commented because why call up Dinho who is playing like shet and not kaka who is playing pretty well.you guys pick on him a lot,but Kaka has been performing very well imo, would die to have him at milan

Don't you worry none. You'll get used to this section eventually since we're going to continue moving all international threads here from the Gen Section.
Resistance is futile

Re: Official call up thread
São Paulo's manager Leão said he'll do his best to prevent Lucas Moura from playing vs Bosnia, as he is needed for the derby vs Palmeiras.
Sao Paulo >>> National Team
This teams seems more and more like a joke with every call-up. I hope they lose tbh.

I have a feeling your coach doesn't like Real Madrid.
Good isn't enough. The guy is most often a substitute and isn't near where he once was. He is definitely better than Ronaldinho atm, but that doesn't mean he should be called up.

Not the Brazilians I know. No one I know wanted Kaká (or Ronaldinho) at the seleção. They are a thing from the past and we should move on. Unless Kaká 100% earns a starting spot on Real Madrid and plays a huge role in that team, I don't seem him doing much for Brazil. Mano will give up on Dinho soon enough. Obviously any AC Milan would die to have him back, where he would be a starter and so on. But, again, that doesn't mean he should play for the NT.
i can't believe Brazil has come to this. "Kaká 's been doing pretty well" in the past used to mean he was taking AC Milan to a UCL title. Then he would come to the NT and that was okay. Now it means he's starting a few more games and doing okay here and there. And that's good enough for him to come and play for the NT according to some people. Tough phase we're going through.

Alex Sandro is Atlético PR's youth product.
@Catracho, it's not the NT's fault, they should protest against the ones who made this messy calendar.

Funk what I meant to say is... the Brazilian NT is so watered down with these dumb call-ups that I rate playing for Sao Paulo more important than playing for the NT.

do people outside of brazil watch flamengo a lot?
or why is it that anyone would want ronaldinho back in the starting line up?
i mean, if you dont want hulk because our fullbacks are attacking, isn't putting ronaldinho on even riskier (sillier)? at least hulk can run
To be fair i dont know, he just looks like the kind of guy who is going to play no matter what.
You can switch him with Hernanes i guess or try Neymar in the middle and Hulk in attack.

Re: Official call up thread
This list annoys me to no end -_-
Scotti is 37 and hes back at Nacional Why not replace him with Britos from Napoli or Guillermo Rodriguez from Cesena.
Munua has been in fine form for Levante.
Sebastian Fernandez is a mediocre player for Malaga and ABreu is 36. WHy not call up Texeira from Groningnen.
Eguren is garbage has been for a while.
As long as we are calling up oldies why not call up Pablo Garcia he actually starts PAOK and plays quite well for them. Gonzalo Castro whos been excellent for a while for Mallorca and were seriously lacking in decent offensive wingers.
Anyway how Id like to line up.
_________Muselra
Caceres___Godin__Lugano____Alvaro
_______Gargano___Perez
Lodeiro_____Forlan____Suarez
__________Cavani
How were actually going to line up..
Maxi___Godin___Lugano___Caceres
Cavabi____Rios____Perez____Alvaro
____________Forlan
____________Suarez
sigh...

Re: Official call up thread
Dunno why you Uruguayans bitch about your team.
That's frakking world class right there.
Abreu
You can't fill the team with a youth squad, in international matches experience is paramount. Probably why the older guys are still around, but you see that in every NT. If you have young teams it's because you have some very experienced younger players.
Don't see the problem having the oldies around, that way you slowly integrate the youth, plus they won't be around by 2014, anyways.

Hhaha Im assuming you frequently hear Uruguay whine about call ups?
I dont whine about unreasonable things though. For example for like the past 6 years Uruguay Media and fans have been bitching about the fact that players like Ignacio Gonzalez and Santiago Silva dont get chances on the squad, theyre nothing players. Gonzalez has failed everywhere hes gone, MOnaco,Valencia, New Castle, and for the NT, Silva has a few good seasons at Velez at the age of 30....
I bitch avout about when I see for example Sebastian Fernandez (26 Malaga) get called uo over a player like Gonzalo Castro(27 Mallorca) Castro is pacier more skillfull and he actually is an influence in his team.
Or players like Scotti (37 Nacional) over players like Britos (26 Napoli) and Rodriguez(27 Cesena)
And seeing Eguren really pisses me off.
Also world class squad reallly?
Christian Rodriguez? Fernandez, Alvaro Gonzalez, Perez.
Btw Brasilians how did Fucile do on his santos debut?
And how has Victorino been for Cruzeiro?

Re: Official call up thread
I'm not entirely sure if Romero is our best option at goal keeper tbh, I think we would be better off with Gaston Monzon (Huracan), best Argentine keeper imo, he's experienced and is a great shot stopper.shinigami99 wrote:Sabella just announced the European contingent of the squad for the match against switzerland:
Sergio ROMERO (Sampdoria – Italy)
Defenders:
Daniel DIAZ (Getafe – Spain)
Hugo CAMPAGNARO (Napoli – Italy)
Federico FERNANDEZ (Napoli – Italy)
Pablo ZABALETA (Manchester City – England)
Luciano MONZÓN (Nice– France)
Ezequiel GARAY (Benfica – Portugal)
Marcos ROJO (Spartak Moscow – Russia)
Midfielders:
Angel DI MARIA (Real Madrid- Spain)
Javier MASCHERANO (Barcelona – Spain)
Fernando GAGO (Roma – Italy)
Erik LAMELA (Roma – Italy)
Maxi RODRIGUEZ (Liverpool – England)
José SOSA (Metalist – Ukraine)
Forwards:
Gonzalo HIGUAIN (Real Madrid – Spain)
Lionel MESSI (Barcelona – Spain)
Rodrigo PALACIO (Genoa – Italy)
Sergio AGÜERO (Manchester City – England)
I like the Diaz call up although others don't, he's been playing well in La Liga this season and imo he deserves it.
FFS, Sabella where is Coloccini?!
Rojo He hasn't been good after the Pep Batista era and should be dropped for Angeleri or Ansaldi, maybe even Pillud.
Maxi is too old, we have better options, I would have rather had Sabella call up Jonas instead, he is a good player with a great work rate and has had a good season.
Sosa is the one of the worst footballers I've seen play for Argentina, there is absolutely no logic behind is call ups, he's a crap footballer. Can't believe this pecho frio got called up instead of Pastore or Banega
Not surprised Biglia wasn't called up though, I love this player and it's a shame he isn't getting called up, he would really do our midfield wonders. I think he would be able to lead our midfield like he does for Anderlecht, he has 10 assists this season! I haven't been watching Anderlecht but that's a pretty good number. FFS, he's not injury prone at all and has been good whenever he played with the NT so I'm bewildered as to why he hasn't played for the NT in almost a year
Lamela was a great call up imo, if he can hit the ground running with la seleccion I think he can be a starter.
I'd like this line up from the players he's called up so far:
------------------------Romero
Zabaleta - Campagnaro - Garay - Rojo/Clemente
---------------Gago-------Mascherano
Lamela----------------Messi----------------Palacio
-------------------------Aguero
