VibeTribe wrote:Branca is the absolute best, and by some distance too...Galliani impressive for getting a 29 year old Ibra for 24?Branca made the same deal for a 5 years younger Ibra.Galliani bought Robinho for 18,Branca bought Sneijder for 15.Mexes free?Branca took Lucio free...Galiani buys El Sharaawy for 20...Branca bought Coutinho for 3.
Galliani did make great deals recently, but Branca is out of this world.Eto'o deal was the best piece of business I've ever seen, and we got Milito and Motta for peanuts.Galliani has attention now because's Inter's been quiet for 2 years now on the market...
Rubbish.
YOu need to look at all the other transfers that have turned out big. What can I say about Inter? You can talk about Eto'o all you want... until the sky turns green. But let me tell you something... what about the other parts of the team? Branca... nothing special.
Coutinho? Bleh. Overrated so badly by Inter fans almost disgusting. I laughed. Branca doesn't even compare to what Uncle Fester has done for Milan since 1986. Doesn't even come close. You want me to go to through the history for you? Yes, Galliani had a few bumpy years (2007-2009 more or less), but look at the overall picture please. Look at everything since the man has been in charge.
Then you'll know for a fact that Galliani blows everyone out of the water, including Branca and Moggi. Branca never did anything special., And Sneijder really only had one great season with Inter... this past season has been... bleh. And I think Van Bommel really got the best of him. A free transfer like Van Bommel is worth its weight in gold. See you don't mention Taiwo, Van Bommel, or Boateng... of course not.
And you don't mention all the crap buys Inter has done the last 5 years. Come on now.

when you buy a player who becomes a world player of the year for the "peanuts" price of 8 million
then talk to us
then talk to us

Not sure about this. They got Mascherano and Adriano relatively cheap and Affelay on a bargain.Apart from Ibra only the Kiev defender was a bad buy.

Re: Is Galliani the best negotiator right now?
Mourinho gets players by his name, his name pretty much makes any player he wants signed interessted. I don't think he is nothing more than an ordinary negotiator.
Galliani is an opportunist, Ibra is becouse how bad Barca wants him out, but Barca are pretty much shit at transfers (Eto'o + 60m deal = stupid)

From what I've seen the thread tittle says right now...

As opposed to Robinho's numerous world class seasons...

The fact that the price of Quaresma alone amounts to nearly half the money spent on these players,
says something about Inter's ability to negotiate

He was free, earned 500k for the half year he played, play 20 minutes and got injured. Bad signing? No.

Got Mexes on a free, no magic involved; same with cassano. Got players on the last year of contract etc...
he didnt pull out any miracle signing imo
Well, what else does he need to do to be the best then? He waits for good opportunities to arrive and then takes them. He does it more consistently than any other to be considered the best.
There have been some bad ones (Gilardino, Ronaldinho, Zambrotta) but they are easily swept to the side when you see the good ones.

I would not call Ronaldinho a 'bad' signing at all
He had his downs, but FWAAARKKKKKKKKKKKK,
He certainly had his ups!
and Zambrotta has been alright for Milan I reckon
He was out with injuries for ages this season and when he came back, Milan (imo) worked better defensively

Re: Is Galliani the best negotiator right now?
He had his ups but by no means did he justify the inflated fee we paid for a player in decline....
Zambrotta's fee was also excessive.

Well i personally believe his 09/10 season (with 57 appearances!) paid off a lot of his fee
Milan were shocking that season
And dragged us through the mud to 3rd place.
08-09 he was okay,
11 goals and 8 assists isn't the best (for Ronaldinho)
But new league, new coach, new tactics and teammates. It's not the worst
And in 2010, he just lost all desire to do well, i think he just assumed he would play because of what he did the season before

You kids...
Pirlo cost 18 million, which in 2001 is the equivalent of 25-30 mill today...Shevchenko was 25 million which was a record breaking transfer

Re: Is Galliani the best negotiator right now?
Surely there is a difference btw unearthing talents and a great negotiator.Galliani may have unearthed some great players for his team like Wenger. But the E'to business is the best piece of negotiated deal as far as i can remember.

Pirlo, nice way of trying to make it look like we paid 18 mill. The entire deal was valued at 18 mill. but we gave Inter Drazen Brncic.
How many champions league have Pirlo, Gattuso, and Seedorf won at Milan again?
Although Shevchenko's deal wasn't cheap he was worth every penny.

I AM BOSS
I cut Drazen Brncic from the Brocchi transfer and pasted to Pirlo cause I knew you'd go straight on wiki haha
Sweetest part is when you said it like you knew who Drazen was
