i mean just look at that spuds game our midlfied tilts during games so they cant do the job on any supposed DM by distracting

If we do sign M'Vila and Wilshere and Arteta are both fit and ready for next season, personally, I would play the three and leave out Song. Controversial?

I've noticed Song was struggling defensively w/o Arteta in recent games. I'm talking about his individual defensive performance, not our unbalanced shape midfield. He lost that bit of discipline & calmness and good timeing shown case in those early games ( Dortmund game comes to mind). He rarely tackle now, do not commit those neccessary technical foul to break play anymore. Instead I seen him drop back just to add up the number and waiting for interception or loose ball. Though strong, Song doesnt have enough stamina to play both roles effectively.

I love new Song but at the same time, i dont want to lose the defensive Song Wenger took 4 years to force.

Wilshere has been out for a year he needs time and Song should not be benched for anyone.

Yann M'Vila to #Arsenal is reported to have been done. 4 year deal.

If the roumer are true, I think RVP is staying and Wenger knows that and he is bringing players to help him win.

^Contract believe to be around £60-70k a week, 4 year deal, with a fee being batted around of £16-18mil. Would be a record signing.

I dont think there's any chance of him being converted to a playmaker. This guy is PURE dm. from what i've seen of him, he's like arteta but better and doesn't go forward much. keeps everything tidy at the back of the midfield

Why? Song, Arteta, Wilshere, Rosicky are all quality playmakers..... for far too long you have been playing CM's as DM's and the result has been that teams find it far too easy to get at your back four.

Even Coquelin quite frankly is a CM, M'vila not only is a quality signing but a needed one...... reading through the Arsenal forum you all seem to be crying out for a AM which i dont understand in the slightest.

1. You have loads of CM's and AM's already

2. RVP is a 9 and a 10 in one you dont need an AM with a player like that.

3. The only real DM who is'nt a CM just doing the job because you dont have one is Frimpong ( and personally i dont think he's good enough for Arsenal) as much as he is a fan fave.

M'vila is a quality signing and player Arsenal have been missing since Gilberto Silva left( if its true) and his passing is a lot better than people give him credit for..... he's no Song but he aint no Cattermole either.

Really don't think anyone's given Frimpong enough of a chance here.

MJ Frimpong time is up, I am sure lower teams would make a good use of him.

It really seems like we have signed M'vila, i wont get excited just yet though. This could be a good move for arsenal since we have so many injuries every season. I am all for giving Le Coq/Frimmy chance but M'vila is a good player and we need good players if we are to challenge for glories next season. Signing him means we are showing ambitions to challenge for trophies next season and hopefully RVP does sign new contract after this.

I just hope to god this is not another Mata story.

I see everyone is talking about M'Vila, but yet any reliable source didn't report this. Agent_ITK is the only one reporting about this in my timeline

I think when people say they want an AM, they a player that can do what Cesc did - a player that can provide that bit of quality in the final third and create chances. I don't think people have faith that Rosicky, Wilshere and Arteta could do that sort of thing (though personally I believe Wilshere can).

If we do sign M'Vila, it'd be interesting to see which combination of players we use. I would go with this:


Wilshere can drop back and let Song roam if need be, or Song can dictate from deep and Wilshere will look to create and support.

Only problem here is that it's a bit unfair to Arteta and Rosicky, who have been really good this season.

I'm drooling at the prospect of M'Vila atm. Surely means Frimpong is expendable now...

I'm more concerned with Coquelin's situation. I really hope he doesn't get discouraged and tries to move.
