Re: Arsenal Lobby
My cries for Shaqiri to join Arsenal are over...
OFFICIAL: Bayern Munich have signed Switzerland forward Xherdan Shaqiri from FC Basel on a four-year contract. http://bit.ly/wjTTLu
Shaqiri will join Bayern from July 1st. Coincidentally, Basel face Bayern Munich in the round of 16 of the Champions League this month.
Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes: "Xherdan will strengthen our team from next season with his football intelligence and dribbling."
Heynckes: "I have been watching him for some time and I am convinced he can become an important player for the club."
----------
I told you all he would be good enough for a European giant club...

Wenger has brainwashed anyone who thinks the sentence
"We are going to get..."
Without it ending in 'no one'

Signing for a top European club =/= being good enough for top European club.
We don't need Shaqiri and I believe he is a very overrated talent. I'm obviously not too disappointed about him joining Bayern.

He is better than Walcott.
If thats 'overrated' for you, then I have to remind you, we are the Arsenal with likes of Walcott and Gervinho as starters...
Hell, Bendtner was our striker for some semi finals in champions league ffs.

Arsenal striker Thierry Henry will not pressure New York Red Bulls into extending his loan spell.Henry is due to return after the Champions League clash against AC Milan next week.
He said: "They have been really good about it, so I can't take advantage of them."

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Arsène Wenger remains confident Arsenal have the strength of character required to force themselves back into the Premier League's top four.
Arsenal head to Sunderland on Saturday on the back of a 7-1 thrashing of Blackburn Rovers at the Emirates Stadium, a first league win of 2012 and a result that reduced the gap to fourth-placed Chelsea to three points following their 3-3 draw with Manchester United.
"We still have real hope that we can finish the season the strongest," Wenger said. "We have a good spirit and desire within the group – and we have quality. We know that with the position we are in we need an exceptional consistency, so that is the challenge we have in front of us at Sunderland."
Arsenal's defensive worries have eased somewhat in recent games with the return to fitness of Bacary Sagna, while fellow full-back Kieran Gibbs is also close to being in contention again after his groin problems.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
On what basis is Shaqiri better than Walcott?
All right, if Shaqiri does really well for Bayern then I will admit I was wrong about him and that we made a mistake not signing when we could have. But right now he's an untried youngster at this sort of level, currently with a ridiculous amount of hype for having a good U21 Euros.
You can't even compare him and Walcott. Walcott has so much more top flight experience and has actually done well at this level. Shaqiri has done well in the Swiss League. Yay.

Even though I don't rate Wlacott that high, I still believe he is better than Shaqiri. If Walcott can play anything close to what he did vs Blackburn no one will stop him.
Walcott is one or 2 tricks away from being a unstoppable player. I really think Ox playing well has helped Wlacott improve his game.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Shaqiri has necessary speed for a winger.
Better dribbling and much much better shot.
He has vision as well and more versatile anywhere upfront.

Shaqiri as a winger is better than Walcott, that I agree on.
But as an overall player Shaqiri still has a lot to prove.
As a striker, Walcott shits all over Shaqiri. People forget Walcott is an out of place striker all the time...

Re: Arsenal Lobby
French journalist Julian Laurens believes Arsene Wenger is the one who 'Les Blues' fans would dream to have in charge.
Julian Laurens: "Arsene Wenger is not made to be a national team manager in my opinion, he loves the day to day life of a club."
Julian Laurens: "No disrespect, but Redknapp is simply not a big name in the opinion of the French. He is not a Ferguson or a Wenger."
