Edinson Cavani vs Quagliarella
What was his transfer fee when joining Napoli from Palermo and was he actually though of as a replacement for Quagliarella who joined Juventus?
Quagliarella joined Juve on a loan deal, August 27th 2010 and Cavani joined Napoli on a loan deal, July 17th 2010. I know July is before August but Napoli did not invest in other strikers after Quagliarella's departure and again, what was Cavanis transfer fee? Less the Quagliagols or did Walter made the deal of the century?
Point:
1....Cavani was thought as a temporary replacement but turned out to be a world class striker who Juve could have had if they chose Cavani over Quagliarella at that time(summer 2010)?
2....Would any Juventini prefere Quagliarella over Cavani?
3....How much did Cavani cost Napoli?

They play different roles.
Saying that, id take Cavani-Matri over a Quag-Matri

I'd rather have Quagliarella and that is the biased answer I will stick to until death.

No intention to spread negative vibes.. They DO play the same role, buddy. It's pretty obvious to me.. The facepalm is because you said otherwise.. How do you think they have different roles? the third question was really my hope anyone would know

Cavani the goal machine would help Juventus win many matches. That being said, if any player was to be replaced it would be Matri who plays a more similar role.

Re: Edinson Cavani vs Quagliarella
Cavani - regular starter. The lynchpin on Napoli attack.Similar role to Matri.
Quay - Regular sub with 1 start. Not good enough to displace Matri from the lineup except when Matri rested. Used mainly as impact player.
That to me says different roles.

They both play same POSITION (Centre forward). That doesn't mean same ROLE if you ask me -IMHO anyway

Going to use the Pepe argument right here
Juventus aren't losing with the players they do put on the field
And since searching for improvement within our own squad is frowned upon I am very surprised at the reactions of some about replacing (albeit hypothetical) two strikers who have been there for one that has not
Pepe logic, Quagliarella and Matri stay
You mad haters?

Don't question Pepe logic.
There is an exeption to every rule.

Both of you are a disgrace.
By the way, Cavani was bought from Napoli only for 16m and valued for 40m now. Once again djawnz, your knowledge towards football is no surprise.

There's a reason for that, he's not as good.
Kwame and Luca know Juventus, they know who's good for it, and who's not. Sadly, you don't.

Nah he's not overrated, anyone who can score many goals in the Champions League and in Serie A, is not overrated. Maybe he does not perform the same on the international, but he has Forlan ahead of him.

Re: Edinson Cavani vs Quagliarella
I see alot of games where he is just invinsible, too many and then he makes 3 goals in one match his statistics lie a little maybe not overrated but definetly a strange character... i knew we were *bleep* when he did not line up against us dammn Pandev

Of course, many prima puntas suffer those games, it's normal... if they don't get the support needed, in this case by Lavezzi and Hamsik, what do you expect him to do?

I do not know how you can disrespect Cavani this much when he put 3 past Juventus last season and constantly shows up in big games
