Can anyone on here comprehend what the board would be doing right now if Barcelona and Madrid were knocked out in the group stages on the same day?

This is basically what happened today for the EPL, crazy world we live in, but it wasn't lucks as Basel were the better team over two legs against United and City drew the group of death.

I feel like people on this forum only watch football to laugh at others. It's kind of pathetic.

Between the Manchester teams, Villarreal, Valencia, Dortmund, Lille, Porto, Ajax, and Udinese (didn't make the group stage) all not making the knockout stages, I believe we have conclusive evidence to suggest that all top level football is dead :coffee:

Man City were up against it from the start. This is what happens when you make the CL for the first time though and wind up in one of the weaker pots.

United, on the other hand, must feel terrible about themselves right now.

Yeah - I don't think we can really make fun of City all that much. They played well, their first CL, nearly impossible pool.

Villarreal > Basel probably.
