UEFA extraordinary executive meeting tomorrow with all FA heads...  rumor is that the FAs will vote to suspend participation in any and all FIFA events/awards until such time as the investigation is concluded.

There's even talk about setting up an alternative organization to FIFA during this period.

He's the big fish they're after...  typically in these kind of cases, the FBI arrests all the people surrounding the big fish and then these guys pee their pants.  As they pee, they agree to plea bargains where they spill all the beans on the big fish.

Racketeering carries a prison sentence of 20 years in the US and that's part of the charges being brought against all these guys.  When you're facing 20 years, you start talking.

I have no qualms if they do find evidence, but awarding it to the US for being a benevolent overseer doesn't tick with me.

We should be getting it because we rightfully won the bid. It shouldn't be given because of the investigation but because without the bribes and corruption it's where it would have been played.

I'm fine with it not being here, I'm aboard team anywhere but Qatar and Russia. They cheated their bids and robbed other nations of a fair process. If FIFA refuses a revote then they should go the nations that finished second in voting

Today's events are a disaster for FIFA and tarnish the image of football as a whole.

UEFA is deeply shocked and saddened by them.

These events show, once again, that corruption is deeply rooted in FIFA's culture.

There is a need for the whole of FIFA to be "rebooted" and for a real reform to be carried out.

The upcoming FIFA Congress risks to turn into a farce and therefore the European associations will have to consider carefully if they should even attend this Congress and caution a system, which, if it is not stopped, will ultimately kill football.

The UEFA member associations are meeting tomorrow ahead of the FIFA Congress. At that point, the European associations will decide on what further steps need to be taken to protect the game of football.

In the meantime, the members of the UEFA Executive Committee are convinced that there is a strong need for a change to the leadership of this FIFA and strongly believe that the FIFA Congress should be postponed, with new FIFA presidential elections to be organised within the next six months.

For those saying that the US shouldn't get the WCs... we're the ones spending the resources (millions) and taking the initiative to take down the corruption. We have every right to take a WC. Since no international body had the cojones to do it and US taxpayers are footing the bill, it's the right thing too. As an American, i would demand that a WC be hosted here so that we recover the cost of doing this.
