A defesa, porém, recebeu críticas.

Pará has left Santos to join Grêmio in a loan deal.

And Diário de Notícias from Portugal claim Atlético Mineiro are close to signing Matías Fernández while other Portuguese sources say the opposite.

Robinho is on better form, yes, but tactically speaking I don't think he should start.

His skill set is identical to Nerman's, so his inclusion brings nothing new.

Besides, Robinho cant play wide and bring width while Hulk can. It was one of the problems with the Copa team:

Brasileirão Futebol Thread: Sponsored by Itaú - Page 35 1+fase

Robinho and Neymar cutting inside all the time occupying Ganso's and Ramires' sites, giving no width and making it so much easier for opponents to nullify them.

To be honest, there aren't many brazilian players that can do a decent job at the wing because we don't use them.

And now that Vagner Love and Luis Fabiano are back in Brazil, they should see their form elevate and possibly be considered for a Brazilian NT spot.

let us be realistic and think about the future. the world cup is in 2014 and luis fabiano will be what? 33, 34? come on, when have our #9 been so old? we should NOT give chances to ANY player who will a little too old at the WC, because THAT is what we are preparing for. Not the Olympics, not the confeds cup, not anything else, its the WC, and we are way behind schedule. that's why kaka, ronaldinho, etc, shouldnt be given any chance. kaka perhaps, as a sub.

i never thought vagner love was good enough and i still dont think so.

pato is too injury prone, i gave up on him a while ago. my hopes lie with damião.

but the fact remains: the Great Brazil doesnt have a world class striker for first the time in a while. where are the romario, the ronaldo, the careca, the tostao????? it's embarrassing that we have better CBs than strikers. that's not our football..

btw, what is this with insisting on robinho? did of you watch his last 20 games for brazil? he sucked. that guy is a "mascarado", he was great at Santos, and that was it. now he's a little above average, but way too inconsistent to earn a spot at the selecao once again.

I think there is a little overreaction here, our players our good, the real problem is the idiot who picks who plays. Not even the most delusional flamenguista would put Ronaldinho on the NT.Or Elias(who?),the FIRST substitution made yesterday,i mean wtf?leaving Ganso (imo the best young playmaker out there),Lucas and Hulk on the bench.Using a italian 3 man midfield system while it is clear that thats our weakest section (specially without Leiva),with no one other than dinho to create plays.

lets not forget that if it wasnt for the media and fan pressure the same guy who saved our asses twice (Marcelo) wouldnt even be called up!

We have the players to make a great team but Mano is so stubborn. For me, Neymar and Hulk or even Lucas have to start to give us more width, so that Ganso can have all the space to distribute the ball to L.Damiao. I really think Dede should be starting over David Luiz, he wouldn't have giving the striker that much space to shoot and Dede is way better defender in my eyes. Our Midfield should be Lucas Leiva(when he comes back from injury) as the holding midfielder infront of the zaga and Hernanes as our segundo volate to give us that quality ball from the midfield and Ganso as our 10. Hulk on the right, Neymar on the left and L.Damiao #9. I would cry if Mano ever put this team on the field.

i agree with all that, but I would rather have Fernandinho over Hernanes as CM.The guy has created so many chances when he played, yesterday i saw him giving some great through balls and the chip for that Damiao chance

Don't know if you're referring to Brazilian NT or Corinthians...

But if it's the former, he's been called up and has played for Chile lately. Borghi finally gets something right Smile

pshhhh Corinthians have more than enough strikers, but I wouldn't mind if he joined too. Very Happy

But I was talking about the Brazilian NT. He only has one cap and from a friendly, so he isn't officially cap tied. And I assume he would automatically say yes to a Brazil call-up.. after all we are Brazil.
