Re: The Liverpool injury Thread
Meh we got two pointless games. It would be good to have 100% at the start of next season.
I hope Suso starts in his stead. Give him a chance to play the deeper position. Or play Hendo at CM and Suso the drifter to the left and canter. Wouldn't mind if Borini starts on the left with Hendo in the center either. But it will probably be Shelvey.

Well, at least it should be interesting to see how we do without Gerrard.

And Suarez.
Gerrard was our inspiration in our 0-0 draw against Everton.

And we are all hoping for that happen. Seriously postseason friendlies are just the worst possible idea in history of football.

No, I maintain that mid-season friendlies (international and club) fill that spot.Messiah "Aggerswagger" wrote:Art Morte wrote:lol, watch all our senior players have some treatment before that stupid South African journey so that they won't have to travel xD

Oh crap, looks serious. Got any details! The season is still 11 weeks away so there is reason for hope.

Seems a little over dramatic to me with that message Sturridge. I don't know the extent of the injury, but looked like a sprained ankle. Should be fine and back for preseason easily.

Yeah, I was a little taken aback with all that god stuff, but it's cool
If he was going to get an injury, this was the best time to get it, let's try to look at it this way (and hope he'll be 100% when the season starts).

I guess the reaction was so drammatic because it seems to me that it was his 1st real opportunity in the International Stage & so soon after getting the chance of his dream (maybe) he suffered a set-back.

Re: The Liverpool injury Thread
Likely gutted as it means he was subbed early after starting his first match for England. It also means he will miss the trip to Brazil and likely his second start for the Three Lions. Its understandable that he's pretty dejected.
It seems strange that we don't know anything yet, but there's no point freaking out until we hear an expected return date.

I hope this report is BS, if it end's up being true, than another bad start to the season. Hopefully the club come out with some good news soon.
Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge could be out of action for four months due to an injury he picked up for England against Ireland on Wednesday.
The worst-case scenario is that Sturridge’s ankle injury could keep him out until the end of September, which will severely impact Liverpool’s strikeforce since Luis Suarez is out suspended until that time.
Liverpool have not yet determined how long Sturridge will be out of action, but the scans do reveal ankle ligament damage. At best, he’ll miss the opening of the new season.
Should Liverpool go out and buy a new striker to boost their start to next season while Sturridge and Suarez are out, or should the Reds try to paper over the cracks with Fabio Borini and a possible loan signing? Share your advice in the comments section below.

England are playing 2 qualifiers in early September .
So even if he misses upto mid September he should be missing at most 3 or 4 league games hopefully .

Thing is missing any amount of time will be a huge blow for us and Sturridge. He needs the preseason to be in the best shape possible. Him coming back in Mid September would mean he'd barely be coming back from injury and starting his getting in shape process. Let's just hope it's not that long.

Re: The Liverpool injury Thread
The worst part is that Suarez will miss the first 6 games through suspension if he stays. And now this news tells us that Sturridge might miss around the same amount.
Seems like Borini will finally get a run of games through the middle by himself. Let's hope he doesn't get an injury in the U21 Euros.
Surely we might sign another forward or two. Aspas seems like a done deal. So worrying too much could be premature.

Re: The Liverpool injury Thread
Aspas could be an inspired deal if the Sturridge injury proves a serious one. Certainly it's more luck than preparation but it simply highlights the need for depth and how much we've sorely missed that in recent years when Torres would repeatedly go away on international duty only to return with an injury and force us to rely on only N'gog or Kuyt.
Now we're suddenly faced with the situation where our TWO top forwards are out and we've still got some relative depth with two more that should be able to do a job for us.
