So it seems. Both he and Wisdom are injured but Wisdom is likely to recover before the Reading game. . . .

Reina reportedly has a pulled hamstring, though not sure about the validity of these reports.

Brendan Rodgers has confirmed Liverpool will assess the fitness of Pepe Reina before deciding whether he can figure in Saturday's Barclays Premier League clash with Reading.

We shouldnt really have a problem vs Reading no matter who the keeper is, i say we shouldnt make rash decisions and just let Reina rest

Re: The Liverpool injury Thread
Tomorrow, we'll be 8 weeks removed from Lucas' injury.
He was supposed to be out for 8-9 weeks. So hopefully he starts training with the team slowly
He should take as much time as he can to slowly get back, we don't want him to rush himself.

Re: The Liverpool injury Thread
Any word on the extent of Reina's injury? I know he was supposedly in contention to play this weekend, but him not even making the bench is a little worrying. Hopefully, that was a precaution, rather than a necessity.

Re: The Liverpool injury Thread
There was a test the day before the game with Reina and they felt it was more serious than first expected. With that said, there is no official news.
I personally felt Rodgers saw an opportunity with Reina's slight injury to give Jones a game and warn Reina that his spot isn't guaranteed. Reina now has to fight for his position.

As for Lucas's tweet...
He's recovering from a pulled groin and should never have played last Sunday. The man is a beast. In good news, he says it's a few days away from recovery. Not nearly as bad as we thought.'I should not have played on Sunday but Skrtel became ill and there was not much I could do. I was thrown into it,'
'I have a pulled groin. It was something that should have kept me out on Sunday but it did not. I played the game.'
'It takes hopefully only a few days (to recover).'
'The reason why I have cancelled for Wednesday is that it is a bit early to play three days after I played 90 minutes with a groin problem.'
As for Lucas's tweet...

Agger is an absolute gladiator. He would bleed for the shirt before he misses a game. I'm so grateful it is nothing serious.
And LUUUUUUUUUUUUCAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS Our season might just be saved, finally our best player will be back. I'm pretty sure he'll get back to his best after the winter break, till then it's all about match sharpness and getting back to full health. I AM BELEIVA

Re: The Liverpool injury Thread
Seems like Reina's collision with Kagawa was more serious than first though. He had a broken nose Also got a concussion and he already went into the match with a hamstring problem.

I actually thought at the time that "that's gotta be a broken nose". You could see his nose had taken a solid hit, there was some blood on the bridge, I think. Hopefully he makes it back soon.

Borini could return before end of season
http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1384028/liverpool%27s-fabio-borini-could-return-before-end-of-season?cc=5901
Liverpool striker Fabio Borini could play again this season after making significant progress as he recovers from a shoulder injury.
Borini, 21, needed an operation after dislocating his shoulder against Swansea in February and was believed to have been ruled out for the rest of the current campaign.
However, despite having suffered two long-term absences since joining the club last summer, Liverpool's head of performance Glen Driscoll believes the forward could even return before the season concludes.
"Fabio Borini was outside for the first time today, so he's starting that progression - passing balls, running and doing ball work. He's due to be probably another six weeks from this point on," he told the club's official website.
"The injury he's had is normally eight to 12 weeks. He's quite a quick rehabilitator. At the moment, it's looking pretty positive for Fabio that he could be back ahead of schedule and maybe make the end of the season."
Meanwhile, defender Martin Kelly is also recovering well from the anterior cruciate ligament rupture he suffered last September and should be back in time for pre-season in the summer.
Driscoll says the right-back can draw inspiration from Steven Gerrard, who has recovered from his own injury problems to have a fine campaign this term.
"Martin is doing extremely well; he's probably at the late stage of his rehab," he said. "We'll probably look to prioritise getting him back for pre-season 110% fit – 10% fitter, stronger and quicker, more powerful and agile than he was previously. He'll probably be in a position where it will be tempting to put him into games again this season. But it will show class and quality if we make sure that he's in a very strong position so he can fly next season.
"Martin should look at what Steven Gerrard has achieved this season; people would never have considered that he would be available for a full campaign. He should take great hope from that and know that if he continues to work and continues his professionalism, hopefully the future is bright. We hope to give him every chance."

Well mate you got it spot on!!
Liverpool have confirmed Steven Gerrard will undergo surgery on a recurrent shoulder problem this week.

Sad that he would just miss on a full season by just two games! ! !

Re: The Liverpool injury Thread
Meh we got two pointless games. It would be good to have 100% at the start of next season.
I hope Suso starts in his stead. Give him a chance to play the deeper position. Or play Hendo at CM and Suso the drifter to the left and canter. Wouldn't mind if Borini starts on the left with Hendo in the center either. But it will probably be Shelvey.
