Isn't he a right winger? you have Sanchez for that position he is 22 and a quality player. You don't need Hulk.

Sanchez can play either side, as can Hulk.

So, whenever Villa goes, we are missing a player...

Pedro will still be alive by then. All you need is a player or two to cover for them.

I think its kind of annoying though, unless Afellay does well this year, he could leave meaning we'd need another forward next year, closing the door on Bojan a little.

Yes, but in loaning him for 2 years, we have certainty that he will come back. We have to wait and see, but I'm taking this more of a wait 2 years and see and then if he's not working look for replacements. Don't look for replacements now, for now the plan is clearly that Bojan will hopefully come good and return. If it doesn't work we think about our forward line later.

Well you don't need someone with equal quality but someone with good enough quality to cover for Pedro, Messi and Sanchez.

Well you don't need someone with equal quality but someone with good enough quality to cover for Pedro, Messi and Sanchez.

Why?

If you lose a player who is at one level, it sounds reasonable to replace him with someone on the same level.

There is no such thing as cover, there is rotation. If one of Pedro and Sanchez dont play, the player who does has to be just as good.

Dont get what the big deal is.

Not always the case though, not all clubs have the same quality players on the bench as they do in the starting eleven. Affelay, Bojan and a decent signing would be good enough all I am saying is that a 50 million euro signing isn't really necessary.

Well at the moment we do have that quality, so logically we would want to keep that.

Villa, Pedro, Sanchez...any of them could play because they have great quality and if one doesnt play well, another can come in.

If Bojan doesnt ever work out for Barca, then we wont have that. We would have Pedro, Sanchez and nothing. Also note that Pedro is the only goalscorer...who will score Villa's goals? Because Sanchez wont.

50m signing isnt really necessary? Tell that to the brain trust behind the Cesc transfer.

Well Cesc wasn't bought for 50 million lol. If Bojan doesn't work out then fair enough then you would need block buster signing.

Well the 50m isnt the issue, im just saying, there is nothing wrong with spending big money on another forward in 2 seasons if Villa leaves and Bojan isnt good enough for whoever is in charge.

edit: I would actually love and prefer Bojan to be deemed good enough and get his chance. His loyalty alone deserves that, he wasnt given a fair chance of things by Pep unfortunatly.

I agree. Hulk was my top choice for the role for which we eventually signed Alexis Sanchez. As for Sergio Aguero, I see both pros and cons. He would have probably adapted and is a great talent but I don't think he is necessarily the best fit for being asked to play on the wings in our system. Considering all possible options available or not available including Luis Suarez and Juan Mata, maybe A.Sanchez was our second best target and it's great we got him.
