Ah, Marco Tardelli, one of my favourite Juventini of all time. What a beast on the ball, ala Felipe Melo. Could score the big goal once in a while too. But defintely one of the greatest central midfielders in Juventus history. He played great in the 1982 World Cup, I was only 16 at the time, but Tardelli, Paolo Rossi and Gaetano Scirea were my favourites on the team. They led Italy to victory, Scirea on the backline destroying all opposition including Maradona, Tardelli in midfield controlling momentum and scoring a vital goal in the final against West Germany (and what a celebration!), and of course the great Paolo Rossi up front who scored 6 goals in the tournament and won the Golden Boot.

As for Marchisio, he is still growing as a player but I see alot of Tardelli in Marchisio. Tardelli was more of a beast on the defensive side with a knack for the good goals, while Marchisio I see as more of an offensive playmaker with sound defensive responsibilities. At the end of the day, Marchisio, with his all around solid play in all areas, COULD turn out to be BETTER than the legend Tardelli. If he continues to improve, then I don't see any reason why Marchisio cannot be world class by next year, our future captain, and a future Juventino legend...

Well Zarola, I will agree... he didn't have the best of games, but then again... he was always pressured. Anywho, one bad game shouldn't benefit him being benched. De Rossi has come back in form this season and is better than ever if you ask me, the Romanista's will confirm this for me without a doubt. But, you said the same about Marchisio in the past, hopefully De Rossi will prove you wrong this time again.

De Rossi is world class, Motta is not even close. Nothing to compare really...

The other problem with Motta is, he's also injury prone.

True. At the end of the day, Motta is a good depth and bench player for La Nazionale. The midfield for Euro 2012, barring any injury, will be De Rossi, Pirlo and Marchisio. That is a guarantee...

Marchisio is very good player and he is still improving about last year he was doing whatever he could out of his position.

Motta is an average player.

about Lich he is one of the best players so far in our squad and we have no cover for him.

Yes, I did and still do have high hopes for Vidal. and coming into the season, there were a lot of indications pointing to Vidal being a better overall player than him. Good form on you for knowing what I didnt... but does that me only you 4 had faith in him? does that mean that you 4 are on a higher plane than us for thinking that someone could be better than him? a lot of people thought diego was better than giovinco and we see how that one turned out.

All I care about is that whats best for Juvents is coming to fruition. Please, dont generalize and claim that onl 4 people out of a whole group thought he would be better

Luckily for Juventus and italy, marchisio is really benefitting for having 2 coaches that understand his strengths. Combine proper direction and guidance with his natural ability and this is what you get. It also helps that he is palying with an overall more competent Juventus and an overall better Italia team than least season/2010 WC

But that is a reality, Aldo. The majority of the forum bar the names listed did hold that belief and while Vidal has integrated very well, he is not on Marchisio's level as of now.

Agreed, though it has had nothing to do with Marchisio not being at his level, it had to do with those who denied saying Marchisio was never at that level compared to Vidal. What's the big deal Sciacca? Well the reason why this is mentioned, is because a lot of people caused mayham with this issue. They went to extents in claiming things that were never mentioned, like the 'box to box left back none sense'. You see, in the past, people called me biased because Marchisio was Italian which again was highly the case. People on this forum were influenced with the hype surronding Vidal, while I didn't fall for the hype and in that case backed up Marchisio from the start until the end. Some thought I was crazy, some though it was an antic of mine to get the whole section against me, some just though I had no logic. At the end of the day, those same people are now following the bandwagon and praising Marchisio. To those people who denied me in the past, can deny it all they want, and I won't mention names, said that Vidal was a better player, well... they sure were wrong.

Correct Sciacca. I forgot to add that. Certain individuals who will go nameless for the sake of not exposing them called me racist and said that I liked Marchisio because he was Italian, when in reality, that was not the case. However, now they all jump the bandwagon and claim they never said it.

I think you are generalizing one or two people's view, if that many.

It's incredible how all these threads that praise Marchisio turn into this argument about who was right and who was wrong. For starters nobody ever doubted Marchisio. They simply thought Vidal would be the better of the 2. There is no bandwagon. They are praising the player on their team because he is performing and that is no different then before. Everybody loves Marchisio however, some thought Vidal would pose a threat and rightfully so as Vidal simply came off a better season last year. I don't believe anybody here ever spoke negatively about Claudio. They simply believed that Vidal would be a better suited partner for Pirlo in a 4-2-4. Myself included and I still believe he is. IMO Marchisio is better suited to a three man mid. Either way Marchisio is developing into a fantastic player. Nobody doubted that. That's the problem. People can't have an opinion here without someone else rubbing it in their face later on in order to feel superior. Why can't we all just relax and enjoy a legend in the making rather then pointing fingers at who said what and who is smarter then who because "they stuck by Marchisio."? Is it really that hard?

Luckily I am not one of them. People in this forum are deluded most of the time, but telling them so causes rift so everyone pretends as though they know football well and wipe the forum to rid the evidence.

@Lichtsteiner might be one of our best players;

I stated that he was ONE OF OUR MOST IMPORTANT players and that I still believes he is - he is irreplaceable at the moment - Vidal could take Marchisio's slot and the team would not perform just as good as if Marchisio had been there BUT we have none to take over the RB slot.. THAT is why i MVP Licht over Marchisio a few months ago.. And slightly still do..

I think a lot of it had to do with ppl assuming march and art play the same role. They both serve the team in different ways and in different capacities. Marchisio is on fire and its reeeeeaaaaaallly helping us.

I'm just saying though that if he falls out of form and/or vidal outshines him, I don't wanna hear more 'i told you so' stuff. I admitted I misjudged march, but I wasn't one of those that were ready to sacrifice him.

We should just be thankful they we have a great MF that is rally working for us.
