Thats not true at all, its just playing Alonso and Busquets together or Alonso on his own isnt whats best for Spain......

2 of them together slows everything down, and Alonso on his own = rape on the counter.....

he maybe a fantastic player but he is not suited for a DM role and Xavi is better than him so iam afraid he misses out.....

If this was about pick 11 of the best players for Spain he would start but this about finding the best team and Alonso doesnt fit " the best team"......

Both Busquets and Martinez fit the team better at DM and a switch to 4-3-3 would suit them better aswell....

Iniesta can move back to his rightful position, you can have Mata and Silva floating around with Llorente upfront and Fullbacks providing extra width.

If this was a one off i might agree but everytime Alonso plays DM by himself ( AND I MEAN EVERYTIME) Spain get raped on the counter.

Its just not whats best for Spain and i dont know why Madrid fan's are complaining anyway lol, he gets extra rest between games then

I dont really want to say anything, im sure most Madrid fans think im just hating on him because whenever I mention him it seems to be in a negative way.

All I will say is he is a great player, I just would never play him as a lone holding player without any kind of defensive presence in midfield.

I haven't seen the goals yet I will see if this was because of Alonso playing DM.

We agree actually. Also, Alonso's style kinda forces our two midfielders to sit deeper which creates a huge gap between the front four and them. Ball recovery requires more energy because of it We hope that Sahin will take over in 2-3 years time

Even if you havent, its not like its the first time Spain have been raped through the middle on the counter with Alonso as the lone DM...... with Busquets in there it doesnt happen.

I am glad Dani mentioned that because iam not at all hating on Alonso hes a fantastic player he's just not someone who should be the DM of Spain.

Nothing against him its just not his role, putting Alonso there is almost as bad as putting Xavi there......

Would definitely switch to a 4-3-3 with Busquets or Martinez as DM and Xaviesta as CM's but doubt VDB has the balls to do it.

I am not for playing Alonso DM either. Just not his thing, but is he really playing that bad? and is it his fault Spain are losing?
