Should we rotate Marcelo and Coentrao like Higgy and Benz?

Overhyped is agreeable but average is an opinion that is quite wrong. He is not average, not in the slightest.

Marcelo is just too good

And coentrao will become a key player later on without being a starter as the season progresses, we will need the depth

No doubt in my mind:

The left back spot is marcelo's and only when he needs rest should he be replaced by coentrao. Against big teams with tight defenses, he is an amazing attacking option and always performs and his defensive abilities are only getting better

Now i wouldnt say Coentrao is better defensively but i think in defense his decision making skills are better than marcelo's that all. He is an amazing player though so i never understood why we needed him, maybe mourinho knows something i dont.

Coentrao is many thing but not overhyped (who hype him?) and certainly not average.

Coentrao was probably your best signing this season. He isn't that far off from Marcelo in terms of attack ( but Marcelo is better than him in this aspect). Defensively I think he is a little better, but Marcelo isn't than far off either ( improved a lot last season).

The best option I would see is against Barca:

MArcelo's workrate would be extremely helpful because he can pressure the likes of pique and abidal from playing the ball to xavi n co.

-----------Coentrao/Nuri ---Alonso ----Khedira

--------Ozil/Di Maria ------------Ronaldo---
-----------------Benz/Higuain

Coentrao's workethic can be the key in this formation. Is it only me or do you see how many different ways you guys can play because of Coentrao. He can slot in as a LW, CM, LB, maybe even RW. This versatility will make him an indispensable member of the squad in the near future.

coentrao not hyped?he was hyped to death before he joined madrid.Ive seen people say he was the best in the world in these forums

Nah, Marcelo is first choice and he earned it. FC must be the utility player he came here to be...

IMO Corentrao can start the match before all important games.

Other than that he can be used at left back for resting purposes or to protect against a Red card.

If he does the same for Khedira , he should get more than enough minutes.

Can Coentrão play RW?

If so, he'll be replacing Di Maria I guess.
