Liverpool
Keep throwing away points at home to teams they should be beating. Can they still make top 4?
I personally think it will be between Spurs and Arsenal........maybe even N'castle lol.
LFC have Chelsea then City after the international break.

That's their no.1 problem this season. I saw that chance Carroll missed today....unbelievable miss.

Re: Liverpool
We 'should' have been in the top 3 if we converted these chances..
But even QPR or Bolton 'could' be first if they could play better ..
I just hope the next 3 weeks don't destroy our confidence..
AND KENNY, PLEASE FOCUS ON EVERY PLAYER INCLUDING REINA TO SCORE IN AN OPEN NET FFS.

Re: Liverpool
It's been bad in terms of scoring goals, this season, other than that we're looking pretty good...
But we've now drawn Norwich and Swansea at home, can't help thinking that other top-4 contenders will win those games, so we're really making it hard for ourselves now...

Re: Liverpool
Liverpool is solid but not spectacular. They will be in every game they play but they will draw more then some of the other top teams.
I still think they can finish top4 but Newcastle has to fall out if they want to stay there because right now Spurs are a better team.
Some of Liverpool's signings are just nit stepping up, henderson specifically. I just don't like his game at all. IF someone aksed me what Jordan Henderson does well, I wouldn't even know what to say.

The thing is that it's not fundamentally Carroll's fault, his position in the team. He was panic-bought on a deadline day for insane money after having played half a season of BPL football. If he doesn't - yet anyway - live up to Liverpool fans' expectations, the blame should go onto people who decided to buy him for that kind of money, not really on Carroll himself.

Re: Liverpool
Two reasons:
1. Carrol sucks.
2. The mids release the ball just a little bit late. Those chances may look like real chances but forwards have to start one step back all the time.
Just my two cents after watching 3 games featuring Liverpool this season

Agreed Babun, Carroll sucks. Always disappointing to watch him play.
The whole argument about him contributing to the game is nice, but he doesnt score lol, missed an obvious sitter

Mike Cashley didn't become a big business man by chance
If this continues battle for #4 spot will be very interesting to watch unfold.

Re: Liverpool
The problem is obviously in the bad transfer period an in the selcetions of players, let alone Daglish tactics have been questionable.
Players like Adam and Downing aren't Liverpool material, and Henderson havent done nothing to justify his price tag. Dont say he is too young, if he doesnt show glimpses of being a big player now, he wont ever.
And Kuyt is on bench?
Lucky for Liverpool that Suarez is there or it would be relgation batle in this moment.

pool has a solid defense and midfield, the problem is that the strikers arent doing their jobs very well(scoring goals)

I agree with pretty much everything you said except about Charlie Adam. I think if there attacking players were better finishers then Adam would look like he is playing much better then what it looks like now. I really think the forwards are doing him a disservice.

Which part of the midfield is solid? The only one who is close to being solid is Lucas and that about sums it all.

Great players should make them teammates look better not vice versa. But Adam is not a great player, he is not even a solid one. I dont see his qualitis rather than crosses.

It might not be pretty but were 8 matches unbeaten, excluding the 3 cup wins
But then again, League position

Re: Liverpool
solid doesnt mean good, but its decent/solid,best DM in the PL(lucas) and the cms create some chances with good passing.the midfield was great today for example, and thats without Gerrard who still is a great player.

Re: Liverpool
Liverpool is doing quite good I think. Seeing their squad, they are about the 5th or 6th best team in the league, if they can finish top 4 it's a success.

This is not true at all. First of all there are like 5-10 GREAT players in the world and Liverpool don't have any of them as most teams don't. No one ever said Charlie Adam was a GREAT player so I don't know where that came from, but if your job is to provide cross' from corners and put your attacking players in position to score and they don't score then how in the world would you make them better? You do know he can't finish for them, right? I guess every pass should put Carroll and everyone else past the keeper for a tap in right?
This is the case for every attacking midfielder, if your forwards don't finish you don't look as good, I don't know how anyone could even begin to disagree with this, but this forum surprises me everyday.
Even Suarez who is a really good player is not finishing well this year.
