Re: Carvajal
Best right back in the world renewed until 2022.
After penning a new Real Madrid contract with an increased release clause, defender Dani Carvajal revealed his delight as he hopes to remain at the capital club for the rest of his career. Since returning to the club from Bayer Leverkusen in 2013, the 25-year-old has excelled and made the right-back role his own.
As a result, he was rewarded with a contract extension which has now tied him to Real until 2022.
"This club is such a big part of my life so this is fulfilling a dream for me. I'm very grateful to the club," Carvajal told reporters.
"It is another great day in my life, to extend my contract with the club I love, the club that is my family. I want to win everything here.
"The release clause is also so high so that nobody can take me away from here and I don't want to leave."
As a La Fabrica graduate himself, Carvajal offered his advice to young players at the club hoping to one day follow in his footsteps and also confessed to holding an ambition to one day captain his boyhood heroes."I feel very proud to be an example for the youth at the club and in the dressing room, there are several like me. My advice is a lot of work, humility and belief that you can get here," he said."It is difficult to get here but there are players in the youth system who are capable of going on to play for the first team.
"I would also be lying if I said to you that I have never imagined myself as the captain here... but if that comes, it will be a long time into the future.
"Our captain is Sergio Ramos and he does it wonderfully. Some day I would like to do it though."
Emilio Butragueno also congratulated the Spain international on his new deal, hailing Carvajal as an example for all who follow.
"You are a symbol of what our youth system represents. A child from the Ciudad Deportiva foundation had a dream and today you are here," he said."You have earned everything through hard work and are an example for all children and youngsters who are currently at the club. We are delighted with this renewal."

At least a month and a half per the article.
Another off season mishap was never getting a back up for Carvajal. Now what? Ashraf??

Either we play Hakimi or Lucas at RB
Either way this is a very disastrous start to the season

Re: Carvajal
damn, oh boy, here we go again. i hope he gets better. i'm seriously contemplating a move to stop visiting our club's website. all these club website injuries or illnesses over the years bug me out. its one thing to see a player get injured on the pitch. but all these out the blue illnesses/injuries that just seem to creep up when you go on our website or football news channels, my goodness

Re: Carvajal
You wot mste
Wow this is so amusing. Have we got any players left. Marca say he'll be out for two months. You've got to be kidding me. When I first saw flu I thought you'll be fine after a week then I saw pericardium and thought ok maybe he has to be careful.
Jeez though like we didn't need this

Re: Carvajal
Wait until the doctors clear him. Given it was heart related they will run through a battery of tests before clearing him. And that's a good thing.
It was a virial infection that affected the heart lining. The infection and the swelling is gone. He is no pain now, but given it was heart related, you don't want to rush this. No doubt he will be fine, but let's not push his return. We don't want another De la Red situation.
Meanwhile, club has identified his backup. It's Odriozola, the kid from Real Sociedad who played extremely well for him in a NT debute against Albania last week. He has an exit clause of 40M (sounds familiar, I think all players at La Real have same price tag), but club is prepared to pay it (next summer).

Achraf is ok, but he is not challenging Dani, which we now want from all backups. Achraf is better off going out on loan to continue his development.

Re: Carvajal
Odriozola has been terrible for LaReal. Lord knows why/how the hype started. Probably because of his fine display for Spain. He is not better than Achraf, they are both raw talents. You are very mistaken if you think Odriozola will challenge Dani he'll be in the same boat as Achraf.

Re: Carvajal
He has not been terrible for lareal that's bull. He has been instrumental with other guys like Berchiche (now PSG), Illarra, their winger forgot his name, in the ascent of LaReal since last year. He is a super talented fullback, and deserves all the praise he is getting.
We dont need him now, Achraf deserves his shot, that's it.

Re: Carvajal
Odriozola has only been a starter for 20 or so games in total between the last two seasons. LaReals fullbacks are terrible, they get destroyed by anyone with good wingers. Yuri Berchiche wasn't any better, he was LaReal's version of Valencia's Cancelo. Watch him today vs Depor and you'll see what I mean when I say he is no better than our Achraf. The only one he'll challenge is Achraf. It's like getting Oyarzabal and asking him to challenge Ronaldo
Illarra I agree with. He along with Willian Jose and Diego Llorente have been fantastic so far this season. The rest are meh including their forever talented attack that people keep harping on about

Re: Carvajal
you are comparing Carvajal to CR in this situation?lol calm down, Carvajal is far from being in th conversation for best ever, very very very far lol. the gap between Odriozola and Carvajal is much closer than between Oyarzabal and CR

Re: Carvajal
In what world is Odriozola "terrible"? You can clearly see he is good attacking full back.

Re: Carvajal
Ok sub Bale/Benz in for Ronaldo and it's the same argument. Odriozola is still in the talented/raw stage. All LaReal fullbacks are uber talented yet whenever they face a half decent winger they get so badly turned inside out you lose all hope in them. He can develop and become a great player I am not saying he won't but he will be in the same boat as Achraf for us. Just because he's been starting for them does not mean he is good enough to challenge the best RB in the world. Slow down yeah. Achraf should just stay, in 3/4 years he will challenge for that RB role imo for now let him just developMr Nick09 wrote:He has not been terrible for lareal that's bull. Re: Carvajal
Achraf is 3 years younger than Odriozola and has looked very promising this season, if we're going to buy someone to compete with Dani might as well buy someone more established and loan Achraf out.
