Marotta happy with Juve development
Juventus director general Beppe Marotta is confident that the club are moving in the right direction, but he’s still not promising the Scudetto.
The Old Lady maintained top spot at the weekend by going to Inter and collecting an impressive 2-1 victory.
Nevertheless, Marotta, while speaking to Radio Anch’io Sport, was remaining cautious about the season ahead.
“It has been a satisfying start, but it’s difficult to make predictions or work out where we’ll finish this season,” he continued.
“Milan are strong candidates for the Scudetto though. Our path will be taken with the knowledge that we want to improve even further and, to achieve this, time and patience is required.
“Through our work we can take great satisfaction. Juventus is a prestigious club and, for the club’s very nature, it should go after victory.”
The Old Lady have made numerous changes to their squad over the last few years, but the outfit believe they have the right Coach now in the form of Antonio Conte.
“Antonio had the profile of a Coach that we were looking for,” the former Sampdoria official continued.
“A man with attachment to the shirt and who knows what Juventus means, characteristics that Conte possesses and conveys to the team on a daily basis.
“He’s a great manager of the group, who knows how to work on both a psychological and motivational level. Conte’s definitely a top tactician and he has a great work ethic.
“With the arrival of new players and a modern prepared Coach like Conte, we can and we want to play a key role.
“Over the last few years, the club has felt the post-Calciopoli impact. Many important players have left and there have been difficulties in reconstructing the squad and revitalising a demoralised environment.
“The difficulties have also been at a psychological level.”
“With Andrea Agnelli as President, Juventus is equipped with a new club structure. This has been the first element to get results.
“Together we’ve found a technical programme and the process of renewal has begun.”
As part of that renewal, there will be no place for Alessandro Del Piero after it was announced that he would leave Turin in the summer.
“There’s no Agnelli-Del Piero case to resolve,” Marotta added. “The Shareholders’ Meeting happens once a year and this was the last with Del Piero as a player.
“The President encouraged the audience to thank the captain who has been the common link with all the stadiums that came before Juventus Stadium.
“Agnelli has never lacked respect for Alessandro, someone who’s dedicated his life to Juventus, as a player and as a man.”

Me too. We are really seeing a completely different team that we havent seen since before Calciopoli. You can see the hunger in just about every player.
